Classic posts from nj.con

OK guys - let's start a journal of 'classic posts' from the cc supporters over at nj.con.  This way, we'll have one thread here with a permanent record...This one really had me laughing - the poster claims that cc is moving because Montclair won't give them any fields!  Remember - this thread is for CLASSICS only - posts that we can all get a good laugh at!

2299.2.1. Private property sale
by jerryRT, 6/17/04 19:14 ET
Re: GO VISIT THE CHURCH by greenmen, 6/17/04

Nice to see you judge people you won't even visit. If you are going to tell groups what they can and can't buy even though it's private property you could at least visit them. Montclair can not offer fields so the church is moving and will be more fields for the town to use

Hey guys - let's keep this thread for nj.con humorous posts only...Move the discussion to another thread, OK?  That way, all the comments will be condensed and easy to find...Here's another recent post that's good for a laugh:

2264. Church support growing
by rockmyway, 6/15/04 0:40 ET

Now that many see that CC is trying to protect the land and help people they are ralling for a fair hearing. Some still are against the church and seem angry that CC supported the highland bill. Those few have other reason for being against CC and no matter how much good they bring will never want them. It is nice to see that CC has taken the high road and has never posted any attacks even though they are attacked everyday.

Another class - cc can't post all the good work they've done for the environment because it would take up needed space (hey cc - use up the entire web - don't worry, we'll make more):

2269.1.1. Contact them
by windfall, 6/15/04 19:42 ET
Re:
VIST THEM OR READ MORE by windfall, 6/15/04

They would be happy to help you. Most churches don't post all of the work they do on web sites it takes up needed space. They do it because it helps people not to seek fame. Just contact them if you need more information.

by windfall, 6/15/04 1:16 ET
Re: more than parking by watchmsquirm, 6/15/04

You need to read all post again. I never saw a post from anyone from the church. I doubt they would post here. I would love to hear from them. All the petty fighting here is foolish. It would be nice to hear from the church.Maybe once they move here they will post updates on the progress of the free fields and health/club for us. I would like to be kept up to date on it. I am sure the kids in town are thrilled to have more places to play.

One from the good old days...Nasty VORT - why do you hate schools so much, LOL:

1895. How many people think a school is the best choice for that site.
by notgoodsign, 4/26/04 20:30 ET

Do most people here want a school for that site? I think a school is a better use of the land then having CC. If vort fights a school to get even wth the BOE, will you support it. I for one think vort should pipe down and take their weirdness some place else. Any sane person knows a school is a good idea for that spot.

1762. Not really
by toddredux, 3/19/04 21:34 ET

First how do you know the board will not approve it. And in court things can move fast or slow The town would not appeal if it lost in court because to much cost to the tax payer.

Not to mention agilent could sue the town and the justice dept could make a charge that the churches rights have been hit. I have heard that from some lawyers not sure how that would work but I think the town should look into it before they go that way.

Many cases get settled when this happens pretty fast. I even heard the mayor say in the paper months ago courts in NJ favor churches in this.

Lets just try to do whatever is legal who ever wants to buy the land church, temple, company that is all the people in town want.

So they don't need to look around. A scaled back CC is all people asked for. We all knew it would be sold. People just wanted the same buildings used. That is why only a few now are against them for other reasons

What a great comeback!

The question is asked...

2389. Insults and avoidance
by fiftyfour, 6/24/04 8:07 ET

One poster keeps refering to "insults" when people ask questions like "why would the CC people tell us they are going to change the plans yet never submit the changes" They say we are insulting someone when we ask about parking? When we ask about the 5 million dollar a year business that will be run from the property... You guessed - they claim insults again. What may I ask is insulting about these questions?

Now for avoidance, those who claim to support the applicant have not had the ability to address the questions asked of them. They keep chanting the party line - but you will have free computers and fields - aint it grand! We have many fields in RT and new ones on the way. The library has free computers (but most homes have computers).

Please address the REAL issues CC supporters. Tell us where in the Highlands bill it says this type of growth is what the state wants. Tell us why the land was not included in the 1st draft of the highlands map - when the map was created by the SAME environmental firm that CC has hired? 3 of the 4 well fields in RT were on the original map - why not this one? Also please address Mrbill55's questions they are valid concerns.

The response?  Back to retoric...

2389.1. why insult the church
by goodchange, 6/24/04 10:25 ET
Re: Insults and avoidance by fiftyfour, 6/24/04

Many seem to think they are good people. It was very nice to read about them reaching out by going to Jamaica with a medical team to help the needy and treated over 1700 people plus brought over 1 million in needed medical suppies. Now that sounds like a great neighbor we well have.

Dr. Ireland can spend the money anyway he wants. It's none of your business and it has no bearing on the application.

No new parking spaces needed. This is open and shut. CC will be open next year. GET READY.

Again, Rockaway isn't a great looking town. Get over yourself.

The answer to this post is priceless

2398. To Rockaway29 & Goodchange
by mrbill55, 6/24/04 18:21 ET

I have already been to the Church's offices. I was well spoken, well dressed, very polite, and respectful in my manner and tone. I was told in no uncertain terms that their books were not open for me to see, nor were their plans for the new facility. This is why I have now come here and asked the questions I did. Either you can answer them, or you cannot. If you cannot, please do not bother to post anything saying "go to the church and ask to see the books". SO, back to my main questions. Answer them with cold hard facts, do not tell me that I do not know of what I speak, as I have tried my best to do my homework. In a very public way I am now still trying to do that very homework, as my other venue (ie: my trip to their offices) was non productive. Time to put up, or shut up already.

Go visit the church bring a reporter to confirm. Everyone knows about the move and what is being built. Please learn the facts so you will be more relaxed. It has been in all the papers and the church has been asked about the move at the planning board meetings. They are very well liked one of the reasons is because they are very open.

How could Mr. Bill have made such a mistake by going to the wrong place? OH NO!

2515. I support education
by RTLUVScc, 7/7/04 21:15 ET

The fact is, is that we'd all be better off if we picked ourselves up by our bootstraps and got a Ph.D. That is the highest degree in the land. I respect and admire educated people. David Ireland has a Ph.D.

Does this mean if we can find someone with two PhDs who is against the application, cc will back down - due to his or her superior intelligence???

2517. Time to come clean
by insfrauddude, 7/7/04 22:32 ET

I must admit my past. I tried to do it in the Neighbor News - but frankly I did not get the attention I wanted. I tried again on my website but again I need more attention.

I am a bad person with a past and I use it to try to bully people. I really like CC because they see things my way - that is my way or the highway! I have taken the low points of my life and capitalized on them. On my video you can hear about my accident - I got a nice settlement from that case and took in some cash on the side

I wrote a book on how to raise kids, funny thing is I have not done it myself yet my oldest still lives at home and the younger ones are still in school. So did I do a good job in raising my kids - Who KNOWS I aint done yet - but I figured it is good for my EGO to make you all think I have the answers. If you want to know about life glue a deck of cards together -THAT is the real mystery of life!

Can anyone guess who I am?

It has been known for along time the church offers many things to the town. Some of them are fields, tennis courts, computer classes and a learning and fitness center. Why do you think so few people go to the meetings. Most are just fine with this church buying the old agilent property. I don't get why this upsets you?

by yesSir99, 7/12/04 16:41 ET

Let's hope the papers do a story on the backroom deals the group against the church is trying to pull off. Word has it they would rather have the state build a prison there. Why has vort taken so much money from builders to help with there fight against Christ Church?

RE: Classic posts from nj.con

Hey - given the choice between a prison and Christ Church, I would take the prison hands down!  Here are my reasons:

1. Any infrastructure Impact would be dealt with "cards up" ahead of time.  The state would not be deceitful regarding impact and would negotiate the limitations that the town would desire on the usage of the property.

2. The growth of the Prison population would be limited by statute.

3. Infrastructure improvements would be provided by the state.

4. I doubt that the population of the prison would be anywhere near the de-facto projection that Ireland has for his Gigachurch.

5. There would be no "hidden agenda" with a prison project.

6. We would be dealing with a more honest agent - - - the State rather than Ireland.

LOL

I must have missed that post on NJ.com VORT is taking money from builders!  Hey that is a good one.

FYI as always our books are always open for review - by appointment.

No, we have not taken any donations from builders - some renovation people who live in town, a doctor or two, some people who work for churches in town, some work at the mall, some work for large companies some for small.  What do they have in common?  They all care about Rockaway Twp and are willing to support efforts to protect the town from over development.

Have a nice day!

Lisa

Just like the post that you obliterated previously, you should know that you need two ACTUAL PEOPLE to play good cop vs. bad cop, not just two personalities of the same person.

Everyone knows the church supporters on this board are all one person. One very boring person with obviously a lot of time on his hands.

Re: CC on record lawsuit by TheMoneyShot, 7/24/04

Marci Hamilton has already said she can't comment on the compromise.

If they were not talking she would just say that. The fact is CC has said in the papers they are making changes and the planning board put off the meetings so this can be done.

Marci Hamilton was hired now to help with a compromise.

There is no court case now, she was hired so soon because her first goal in all these cases is to broker a compromise.

You of course no this, and are mad because you know you can't show one place where people say there won't be a compromise. That is because it is happening.
