I have started this thread to discuss upcoming events for Carla's children. I hope you dont mind but the other thread was titled with the news of her death and I have hopes that this thread will help the future, not continue to bring up the pain of this tragic event.
With that said I am very happy to say that Carla's sister has sent a PM stating that Clarrisa is doing much better and she has let me know that the Fund for the kids has been arranged through an attorney.
Sheila wrote: "Carla Guidice's sudden death just two weeks ago has hit all of us in very different, but profound ways. Although many of us are still in a state of shock, so many of Carla’s friends, co-workers, neighbors and extended family members have expressed a desire to help her three children who find themselves suddenly and tragically without a mother and at such tender ages. While nothing can ever replace the love of a lost parent, we are setting up a fund to financially help the children with their present and future needs. There is a temporary fund which has been set up the Bank of America. In order to make a contribution, please make a check payable to “Purcell, Ries – Trust Account” and mail it to Purcell, Ries, Shannon, Mulcahy & O’Neill, One Pluckemin Way, P.O. Box 754, Bedminster, New Jersey 07921. The account is a secure attorney trust account which is being set up as a temporary account until a permanent trust fund can be established. I expect the permanent fund to be established within a month or so. The reason for the temporary fund is to create a repository for the funds that have already been collected and for those who want to contribute immediately while the legal issues concerning the formation of a permanent trust are finalized.
At that time, all donations sent to the above account will be moved to the permanent fund. I will send you all another communication with the information concerning the permanent fund once it's set up as well as what has been raised to date in the temporary fund. The plan is to have the trustee of the permanent fund be a neutral, third party that can administer the fund solely for the support and care of Carla's children, Rebecca, Nicholas and Clarissa."
Please pass this information along to your friends and family. These kids need a community of support now more then ever. Lets show them that people care!
Best wishes, Lisa

The Christ Church Plan for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd is just too big for the area.
Carla and I were friends when we worked together at Prudential. I was wondering if there was information on any other fundraising events, or if plans for the permanent trust fund were known yet. If so, could you post so I can pass them along to other former Pru employees who have been following this tragic turn of events? Many thanks ...
I heard tickets are also available at the Hibernia Post Office. The Rockaway FOP Lodge is buying at least 100 or so tickets. Everyone, please come out and support the children of Carla........
This is Sheila Guidice and I'm writiing again because I've received many inquiries as to the permanent trust fund information for the kids. Please rest assured that the temporary fund is earmarked so that every penny will roll over into the permanent fund once the legalities are complete. Like you, I was confused about the process but our attorney and financial advisors have assured our family that this is the safest, legal, black and white way to handle monies that are coming in. It just takes time. Please feel free to contact me or our attorney's office if you need more clarity, but I cannot stress enough that this is the way Carla would want us to handle the situation.
Again, please accept our heartfelt thanks for the love and support you've shown Rebecca, Nick, Clarissa and the rest of our family.
Congratulations to all who worked so hard on the event for Carla's kids. They had a wonderful turn out and a great day. The amount of caring and support shown today was very uplifting. It was great to see Clarrisa playing with her friends and with a great big smile on her face. I am sure that Carla was smiling down on her friends and family today.
Best wishes to all, Lisa
