Corzine, who as a senator co-sponsored the federal Highlands Conservation Act, also reminded the council that its mission is to protect the water supply that flows from the 800,000-acre region and natural resources that keep it clean.

************* It sure sounds like he actually gets the importance of the Highlands. Once the land is opened it is sometimes impossible to correct damage done, I for one am not willing to take risks with our water supply.
