For the past several years there has been disorganization in the Rockaway Twp school system. In my opinion the problems were created by Parciak who was useless the last, oh, 10 years of his stay. Then we fell into an unexpected situation the death of a new leader, very sad, very upsetting and led us further off course. The interim did a good job and I remain optimistic about the future with Vitta.
There was also the unproductive rantings of a lunitic that the school board had to content with. Mr. Doty distracted them so often that real work was difficult to accomplish. In fact I do not think he has paid those fined yet. Look at the time he got up in a meeting claiming that the projected census was not realistic because it counted Pond View which had yet to be built. NOW a few years later the plan that has the approval from 1986 is ready to go (something I cant stand but it is true) and we have no place to educate these children. Thanks Ted ya did a great community service with that one!
There is talk about a 40 million dollar referendum that the school board is going to try for to pay for a new school. Where we are going to get the sewer and water allocations for a new building has yet to be addressed. How much will it cost to build a new school from the ground up, well you can bet it will not be cheap! Where in the town do we have the room for this - not many places.
The BOE dropped the ball 4 years ago and it is just too bad we can not hold Parciak accountable for his mismanagement. The time is NOW for ED. Any reasonable person can see this is the right move.
Yes we all know where it should be. Now the question is do our elected BOE members have the strenght to do what is best for this town? I would hate to see them intimidated into inaction.
Why not collect tax revenue for a couple more years. This application still has more holes than stinky swiss cheese. The Tax Man should pay another visit. Only a hand full of workers there on a given day (around 10 cars). Never 50 like they claim. Office in Verona is still operating. Real Estate prices are going to sink like the stock market in '99. Supply way exceeds demand for commercial real estate in Morris County. We pick the property up for 5M in 2008.
I like it BR but for one thing. I think that we should only pay 4 Megs in 2008. You know, commercial properties depreciate alot.
And, just doing ratio proportions to calculate taxes, HP had around 500 people on average working there. ireland has 10.
So his tax relief ought to be:
(10 / 500) x $670,000.00 = $13,400.
Thus, his tax bill should be $670,000.00 - $13,400.00 = $656,600.00.
I think that our taxman gave him a 35 % relief amounting to a $234,500.00 reduction. Isn't that not just a little bit of a problem but a REAL BIG problem for ireland?
Therefore, I think that he owes RT a whole bunch of money! And, maybe some time in jail for attempting to defraud a governmental agency. What do you think?
