WHAT IS A CULT LEADER

Here are some signs and characteristics of a cult leader. This is in no way exhaustive.

Note: I am not trying to get anyone to disrespect or rebel against their pastor. I believe that if your pastor asks you to do something then go ahead and do it, if it does not violate your convictions and as long as it is not illegal or immoral.

1) Does the person say, "Never question me?"

2) Does the person say, "What ever I say just do it?"

3) Does the person say, "If I tell you to do something and you do not do it then you are not humble?"

4) Does the person try to embarrass people who do not do exactly what he wants?

5) Does the person contradict themselves allot?

6) Does the person make promises and then reneges on those promises at later point in time?

7) Does he say that he is responsible to God but behaves in a manner that he is accountable to no one?

8) Does he provoke and intimidate to get people to do what he wants?

9) Does he have to flatter people to get people to look over what he does wrong against people?

10) Does he behave as though he is the mouth piece for God? The Bible gives plain warnings about adding and taking away from the Bible.

11) Does he behave and talk like he is the Holy Spirit?

12) Does he behave like he does not care what people think and behaves like he does not respect peoples convictions?

13 Does he demand respect instead of trying to earn respect? Cult leaders have very little patience and expect everyone to serve them. Cult leaders have very little time for people only for their own aims.

14) Does he seem to have a pre-occupation with preaching at the congregation to give him more respect.

15) Does he wear a phony cheesy grin all the time, and acts like everything is all right all the time when things are falling apart in your church. This means he does not know how to handle problems that he has probably caused so he try's to overlook them thinking they will all just go away.

16) Is he always trying to make himself look good in front of the congregation?

It kinda sounds like a certain "pretend minister" that we all have come to know.

Was it Jesus that said, "Know me through my Actions"?

Well, ireland, we know you well.

I think I might prefer a nice old fashioned sex scandle in the whitehouse to the above mentioned asses of evil that we have now. Who in short order have gotten us into a war we don't belong in, turned a surplus into an epic deficit and have lowered the political capitol of our country in the eyes of the rest of the world to alltime lows. For the smallbrains that prefer this mess to sex scandles, I got a bridge I wanna sell you and you may wish to join a megachurch.

Oh yes, the Democrats are so great. That's why our state is shut down today. I don't like war either, but sometimes it's necessary. Even if there weren't any weapons of mass destruction, don't be fooled by Iraq. There was plenty of other things going on that were just as harmful.

The way I see it the problem is not one party vs the other it is the entire system. 2 parties are just not enough. We need more choices and we need them soon.

Both parties have idiots in them - currently the Rep. have the the oval office with the biggest screw up our nation has ever seen as Commander. Our State has a dem who thinks if he holds his breath long enough he will get what he wants even if it is wrong. In short people need to work together but it seems that is not possible with only 2 parties.

Anyone up for joining the DEMUPLICAN PARTY? take the best of both and leave the fanatics out!

IMHO...

Very well stated RTconcern. I ain't a big fan of either party at this point either. But to the die-hard Bush fans who attempt to heep praise on the worst president this country has ever had by bashing Clinton, all I can say is that you have already lost the arguement.
To those that say that war is sometimes necassary, I would agree, but THIS war, was NEVER necassary..... wars of choice never are.Not to mention the fact that the war has been poorly prosecuted ever since the famous "Mission Accomplished" speech due to poor strategic planning. But the Bush fans will still line up to drink the kool-aid it would seem.

The only problem I had with Clinton was, if you are the president and your going to risk your reputation in a sex scandal, at least make it worth the risk. Monica is a cow, just like Hilary. At least he's consistant. I would have opted for Pamela Anderson. Hey JFK was sleeping with Malilyn Monroe and he was a hero. To bad the mob had to snuff them both out.

If I woke up every morning next to a witch like Hillary, even a cow like Monica would have looked awfully good to me too. It's all relative and it is really hard to blame the guy for his behaviour given those circumstances!.

relax fyrral, hold your water sport. Your "pal" klinton signed the abortion of justice named RLUIPA. I am not a fan of either party (independent here) so don't get your panties in a wad sport! Calling them like I see them guys...

Ok John! We can't all be perfect, and I do hate wedgies. Although I would not say clinton was my pal, I'd love to trade 8 Bush years for 8 more Clinton years. try and think of anything that's better now then it was then. Even the scandles were more entertaining! Plus, even if we have to put a person in the office of president that we may not agree with on many issues, I'd feel better if it was at least a smart guy, and not a moronic nose candy snorting frat boy.
Even the conservatives hate this guy, because for all his bellowing, he's no conservative. The definition of conservative has changed or morphed over the years to mean social conservative much more than it means fiscal conservative. That's truely a shame, because government gets run and guys like Bush get elected based more on largely irrelevent ideology and not on any ability to steer the ship of state or having any pragmatic decision making ability.

H.L. Menchen wrote back in the 1920's or so something that I shall paraphase since I don't remember the exact quote.
" In the future, due to the declining collective intellect of the electorate , an absolute moron will be elected to the office of president"

The future is now.

The actual quote:

As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. — H. L. Mencken

IT appears from the quote that George Bush did!

Would you have preferred straight D student Kerry running the show?

I agree that Bush Jr is just as bad if not worse than his old man. However, when voting for president of this great country, it always comes down to lesser of two evils. If the Dems could have found a better candidate than that @sshole Kerry, they mave have stood a chance of filling the oval office.

BR (Independent, who would vote for anyone but Kerry, even Bush!)

Yup, even a broken clock is right twice a day!

Would I prefer Kerry over Bush? Although the dems sure could have found a better candidate, anything is better than the worst, so it short, YES!

So, you would prefer an idiot with straight D"s in College running things? That is basically what you said. Interesting.

At least G.W. Bush made C's and B's! He at least knows what he wants to do. Kerry could not even figure out that he voted for something just after he voted against the same thing!

What a leader he would have made, NOT!

BTW - I am a registered Independent, one of those folks who actually determines who is elected as opposed to the partisan idealogues running around shooting their mouths off who have no influence on the outcome of elections.
