RLUIPA Vs HIGHLANDS

Carroll, a lawyer who once offered to represent Christ Church, said that "any sort of emotion, other than profound sadness at the state taking over our land-use decisions, is premature."

Isn't RLUPIA doing the samething, the state taking over our land use decisions? How come it's ok for RLUPIA to do that and not the Highland's? If CC is that entity with the deep pockets then how can they sue one law that the state is making land-use decisions with the Highlands and favor the Religious Land Use Act? Aren't they both about land-use decisions being made by those other than the towns?

Thinker thats a real good point. But this whole deal is about three things, money, more money and alot more money. Somebody is going to get Dr. Irelands parishoners cash. Lawyers (no matter what) Politicians (no matter how) A connected builder (no matter where) And of course the owner of any large enough property. The way I see it ,the only losers in this whole mess are the citizens of rockaway and surrounding areas, and the reverends flock who are being led down the garden path.

But that was still a real good point.
