How much advertising money does a large, successful PR firm spend?
Do they spend any of it on local newspapers or their parent companies?
Do any local newspapers feel pressure to support their advertisers - just as many years ago, many magazines refused to print anti-smoking articles because all their back-covers were from tobacco companies?
People in Rockaway for the most part have been thinking small. We're talking a project worth 10s of millions of dollars - maybe even more. There are many more players involved that our town and cc. Developers, PR firms, law firms - lots of money to be made. Lots of money to be lost if the development project does not go through...Lots of souls to be sold for the almighty dollar.
Come to your own conclusions - 2 FRONT PAGE HEADLINE articles about internet chat rooms! Very odd.
Mr. gadfly, are you insinuating that journalism like politics is not a high paying job? That maybe after a sterling career in politics a politician might find work as a lobbyist, or a journalist mind be employed by a high end PR firm? Jeez, that makes me wonder just what I would be capable of for say 300 thousand a year and a no intrest loan.
Maybe its time to take the low road, just like CC is doing with this second rate PR firm.
I just posted under a new name on the other forum (URaLIERprGUY). I should have copied the post because it was deleted in seconds and my new name was banned.
They are definitely controlling the forum over there. No Question.
In the end the real "Truth" will win. And they will all look like fools.....not that they don't know.
I hate to **** on the parade, but the "Real Truth" does not always win out. Otherwise, orgainizations like Spring O'Brien would not survive. These techniques do work and the only effective way to fight them is to throw money at the problem. That means hiring our own and more effective PR firm. The PR firm is just the front to send cash to the correct individuals to assure that the slant is apporpriate for the client.

I agree with you 100%, so no **** on my parade. The difference here is they are fighting a losing battle to sway public opinion in RT. Thier attempt to control the media has only made CC look worse to those who already oppose the application. And we all know that's everyone in town except the 2 fools. Just think, how hard did you laugh when you got thier propaganda in the mail last fall.
based on forum and bulletin board manipulation...PERHAPS A PRECEDENT HAS BEEN SET...

By Amelia Kassel …Pronouncements in Web sites and message boards have become fodder for legal action. Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) filed a suit seeking $1 million in damages against a New Jersey man and ten others who posted comments on a Yahoo! Finance message board criticizing one of CSFB's investment research analysts. Raytheon filed and then withdrew a suit against a handful of their own employees alleging unauthorized publication of confidential material on the Internet. Many companies have sued owners of attack sites, seeking removal of the critical material. In most situations, first amendment rights protect the rogue Web sites….”
"In most situations, first amendment rights protect the rogue Web sites….” then why are our first amendment rights not protected on NJ.CON? Because they own the website? Then it should be called agree with NJ.CON or be deleted.
