According to one of cc's press releases The PR firm used by them is called Spring, O'Brien and company. Here are some statements they make about their services (from their own website - which I might ad is VERY professionally done):
...helping you identify exactly what you need to say, and how you need to say it.
...Spring O'Brien is committed to one thing: Implementing the most effective communications plan for each client.
...great experience in honing and delivering the message that will give you an edge...
...we have often recommended unusual approaches that offer stand-out opportunities...
...to in-depth crisis management and damage control.
...Creative writing that makes news...that helps drive the headlines.
...high level contacts in...general press (print and broadcast)...give us the wherewithal to generate the high profile major coverage our clients have come to expect in magazines, newspapers, broadcast and on the internet.
As for Mr. Weinstein, he is Senior VP / Managing Director NJ Office. He's got a degree in journalism and started his career as a reporter.
Just some food for thought when you think about what has been said and how headlines have been driven....
I find it all very disturbing. I went for a look myself and found one other interesting item,They are also the pr firm thats represents HP. So any body out there take any courses on media manipulation?
Yes. That pretty much sums it all up. Why do we here in Rockaway Township not have a PR firm to attempt to cancel the CC machine out? We also need to cancel out TD since he is obviously a paid agent for Agilent. Unless this town undertakes this most important step, we are essentially fighting with one hand tied behind our back. That is just plain stupid.
So CC's PR firm is the same as HP's PR firm--doubly dedicated to closing this sale.
And Doty's previous employment with HP, where does that fit in, I wonder?
Is he on the payroll for the PR firm? It wouldn't surprise me if they hire people to sit there and post all day--much like a telemarketer or an answering service, you never have to leave the house.
I wonder if he gets paid by the post or by the hour?
I remember him explaining how message boards were often manipulated by the moderators themselves or by the newspaper itself to stir things up and get more hits...
Is it believable that Ted Doty paid for 7,000 mailings himself? It is more likely that it was paid for by one of the two principals in this fight. I wonder how legal that sort of activity really is. It seems that it could be considered to be outside inteference in the political and civil affairs of a local community. Clearly, if so, it would be unethical if not flat out illegal.
Does your church have a PR firm? Mine, for some reason, does not.
Well we do not have a pr firm. but we sure have alot of computers, couple of hundred emails, reminding them of their ethical obligations to society as a whole can't hurt.
here is what i sent the nice people.feel free to copy and elaborate.

I thought this fellow would like to hear your concerns also. We still live in a democracy and I am sure he would like to continue to represent us. Call me paranoid or just call me annoyed but I believe there is alot more going on here then meets the eye. Connected contractors , pr firms and a whole lot of money.
