RE: Let' s see...

"Yeah, especially Lou.The northern section of ward 5, and ward 6 are his political base.  That area is aalso the home of the CC opposition.
Regardless of his personal feelings, Lou needs to support or give the appearance of support to the voRT fools "

Ted...When you call VORT fools, you are calling your neighbors fools....

And while the 2 VORT families live up Green Pond, all the township will be affected...even you when you leave you home and take a trip to the Diiner, or onto RT 80 from Green Pond....or if you try to go up Green Pond.

And if you say that our Mayor is wrong by supporting and being concerned about the welfare of his constiuants, well then let him be wrong every day of the year.

People vote for officials who have their best interests in mind....that's what the system is set up for.

When you are mayor Ted, then you can have the option to betray the town, until then, why don't you shut your piehole.

You make the same mistake that Lou and the members of the towncouncil have.

The elected official shouldn't say "there go my constituents, I will follow them so that I can lead".  Clearly this is the case with Lou, Max Rodgers and others.

An elected official should look at the best option and support IT, not just the will of a few people.

In the case of Christ Church, RT official are wrongly attempting to satisfy the will of a few residents at any cost.

Ted you comment is wrong: "In the case of Christ Church, RT official are wrongly attempting to satisfy the will of a few residents at any cost. "

Ted-Hey man, wake up... this is not a few residents that oppose it...it is the largest oposition the planning board has ever seen in Rockaway....at least recognize at a bare bones minium the 300 or so attendees at the meetings.....and even you have stated that for every one person that comes out to a meeting there are 20 that agree with him/her. So you continue to say that only a few of the residents oppose this???

It's the other way around...only a couple support it..you and Russ.

You miss the point...what a shock....We are a representative republic, not a strict democracy...it's all about reading comprehension, get some

I think the last few meetings have been quoted in the papers as having no more than 200 people.  And some of those were supporters, at least 25 or so.

So there are 175 in town that are clearly against it.  Out of about 10,000 adult residents, that's 1.75% .

What about the first meeting, how many people showed up there?? Residents were signing petitions, buying bumper stickers and then what happened? They found out that their voice had no say in this fight. The fight was going to be fought by the law and lawyers. We had no say. Yes, it would be nice to show support, but the meetings are drawn out, boring and late and the residents really don't have much input.

A vote would show what the residents of RT feel. But we are not alllowed that either. Gee, is this our town? Are we paying taxes to support it? And we get no say in this megachurch trying to force the town to accept them as part of the community when they give nothing back.
