Good Question

If the majority of RT residents wanted him to leave, would Craig Maier leave town?

Yup!  We will move.  Let us run the following referendum:

1. Vote if you would rather have Craig and Marla live in town or Ireland and his clan:

Yes:

No:

We are all in favor of it.  Obviously, if Ireland moves in, you really do not have to worry about the status of Marla and I anyway.  You can pretty well predict our reaction.  We will vote with out feet as will most other families in town.

If he was planning an oversized campus on environmentally sensitive which was going to cause horrific traffic...I'd be the first to tell him to leave.

You'd be better off leaving now while you can still get 10 cents on the dollar for your house.  As the entrance of CC becomes more certain, your house value will continue to fall.  By the time they break ground, you'll probably have to pay somebody to accept your deed.

GET OUT WHILE THERE'S STILL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need an English lesson, Mr. C. ???

I'm not sure but I don't think you can have an 'either/or' question with a 'yes or no' answer.

Nothing personal,

Yup bystander,

You are smarter than I would have generally given you credit for.  You covered all four permutations of possibilities; you outlined all of the responses for which I allowed to be meaningless.  Yeah!!  I am:

Crazy Craig from Cranford

When are you going to make a meaningful contribution to the discussion as to how the presence of CC is going to have a positive influence on this town (a town that you do not live in).  Also, if you do not think that it will have a positive influence, what are your recommendations to assure that our towns lifestyles and economics will not be destroyed by this mess?

F-c-kin Maier for F-c-kin Mayer!!  LOL!

ps folks,  If we sold this 850K property {as evaluated about a year ago} (before this cc crap came about) and sold it for only one buck, we will still do ok, personally, - - - not great, - - - but ok.  And that we will do if we need to.  We will not live in a town subservient to a minister named ireland with his perverse ideas.   How many of you in RT can afford the luxuary that I have just described.  To lend some credence to my position, let me direct you to three companies that I own 50 percent stock in so that you do not think that I am a "blowhard":

www.diamondcut.com

www.enhancedaudio.com

www.tracertek.com

These companies are part of my retirement hobbies.  We sell software products worldwide to the entire audio industry including the forensics/surveilance/realtime intelligence businsess.  (ie, the US Marines, FBI,  CIA,  ATF, DEA, MOSAD, MI5, MI6, etc.)

I find it to be an interesting hobby - - - I, along with my business partners, create a lot of the mathematical algorithms which are so very important to  industry and national security.

I wonder why Teddy has not provided me with the equation that I requested the other night??  Well, that was a rhetorical question anyway, because we all know that he is a total ****ing blowhard anyway.

Rev. Craig Daniel Maier, Phd.

ps - check out the History section of the www.diamondcut.com section of one of the corporations to see how it developed from a sort of "spiritual" perspective.

Love most of ya!  Keep our town the way that it is.

Never ... As I've mentioned in a previous message, I don't discuss politics or religion online ... never have and never will.

(( ...  if you do not think that it will have a positive influence, what are your recommendations to assure that our towns lifestyles and economics will not be destroyed by this mess? ))

No comment as per my statement above.

C'est la vie.

P.S. For what it's worth, I don't believe you're a 'blowhard' at all... just very passionate, focussed and worried.

RE: Good Question

Bystander,

You are generally right in your assessment of me (us).  The one difference is this:

We have enought money to walk away from this place with no customer whatsoever for our home at all.  It will hurt us, but we can survive financially.

Most other people in this town will suffer greatly.  For them and the town that we have come to greatly enjoy being members of, we feel very sad for.  Actually, the thought brings tears to me when I think of some of our friends in town and the impact that it will have on them which will be inescapable since their financial resources are much more limited than ours are in general.

But, if that cc reality becomes the ultimate reality, so be it.  Self preservation is a basic human instinct and it is a fundamental element of what is going to happen with our personal situation here on Meriden and most likely with others in town who can afford to deal with it.

We would love to stay and not loose a lot of money and be located far from a lot of  our friends, but - - -

"What will be will Be."

Craig
