RE: ConcernedII

ted-  i started with this because i simply said you do not know what you are talking about with all the numbers you use.  secondly, i never said that the schools were so over crowded that we need to build another one.  But I know from experience walking through the hallways, the lack of undivided attention of teachers inorder to provide what is necessary for students, and  after school programs lacking it's potiential is occurring.  Sooner or later a school or a school with expansion will be needed, probalbly soon than later. (will result in a better teacherstudent ratio and the attitudes of all)

Yeah, I do.I have the Demographic study, Iwas at the BOE meeting when the inappropriate calculation was revealed, attended ALL the Facilities Committee meetings, attended BOE meetings for iver 10 yrs and was a member of the BOE

secondly, i never said that the schools were so over crowded that we need to build another one.

Good then we agree on that

But I know from experience walking through the hallways, the lack of undivided attention of teachers inorder to provide what is necessary for students, and  after school programs lacking it's potiential is occurring.

Are you saying that are teachers are easily distracted?  I don't agree and class size is still held to between 20 and 24 students

Sooner or later a school or a school with expansion will be needed, probalbly soon than later.

Do you have any stats that will support you contention?  I've supported my view.

(will result in a better teacher student ratio and the attitudes of all)"

Again, I'm not sure what you're saying.  Your comment seems to be teacher oriented.  Are you saying the teachers will have a better attitude if they have less students?  Kinda sounds like a threat or blackmail to me.

ted-  i could not move through the hallways easily and i'll tell you right now that there were more than 20-24 students in my classes. Also, don't tell me that teachers are not stresses with the more students they have per class.  so give it up already.  you one side views suck.  ONE LAST TIME ted--- TO KEEP THE QUALITY, YOU NEED TO IMPROVE OR MAKE MORE OF.  REGARDLESS IF'S EMPLOYEMENT, TRAINING/REGULATIONS OR BUILDING EXPANSION.  WE ALL SEE YOUR POINT BUT IT'S YOUR IGNORANCE THAT SUCKS THAT TICKS US OFF

I'm sure class sizes are kept between 20-24.  When a class gets to about 23 or 24 one of the BOE members (recently it's been Mrs. Salny) raises the issue.

You also need to keep in mind that the 20 -24 number is for Homeroom.  Academic classes are lower.

The idea that bigger is better is true for capital intensive businesses like auto manufacture (ie economies of scale).  A new building will not improve quality in labor intensive endevor such as education

All of the information included in the Concerned Citizen letter is based on undisputed fact.  Perhaps the cost and property tax estimates are low, however.

I suspect the mailing was postmarked in Newark because that's where printer/mailing house we used is located.   The letters  however were mailed from the Rockaway Post Office.

 Who paid for this mailing?"

Private funds from residents who wish to remain anonymous paid for the mailing

Apparently some find it difficult to believe but there is more than one resident that sees thru the Facilities Committee's questionable statistics and are opposed to constructing a school that RT doesn't need.

You better be building some nice new schools in Rockaway Township.  I am bringing my flock to town after I finish my megachurch, and I expect the best in educational facilities for all of their children!  Do not mess with me and my plans for my Township.  My commandment unto you is simple:

DIG DEEP and SHUT UP!

Many of us believe we already have an excellent educational system.  Also, we don't wish to expend taxpayer money on a school we don't need.

I will be bringing thousands of children to your Township, and you shall care for them.  Your school system is not adequate to handle the volume.  After they graduate from my K - 5th grade school, you are going to have to facilitate my flock  Shape Up, Rockaway.  Start fixing this situation now!  I want the new schools to be built before my K to 5 is completed at my campus.

Remember:

DIG DEEP and SHUT UP folks.  Your town belongs to me.

Do you have any verifiable evidence that the student census will grow?

It was not becouse of the numbers ted - it was dumped due to cost and environmental concerns. The committee did was not made privy to the costs and environmental issues. They are still working out the best course of action, and you are not the genious you think you are...of course you will still have your one vote come December.
