First of all - you're a .org, not .com. .com is for commercial entities. .org is for non-profits.

Also - you do NOT need a full hosting package - unless you want to put up your own webpages. All you need is one of the cheapo package that offer redirection. You own rt-issues.org or some other website and people are redirected here.

Cool--I was thinking it needed to have a page, but it just needs to redirect to this forum, right? No actual "web site"--Awesome--less to maintain!!

If we were to do this, who would help spread the word?

We should have all opinions, pro and con, and it should really be a place where people can come to see what people are saying.

I'm tempted to say we should have a sign-in policy (like nj.con) but it kind of discourages frank, spontaneous speech I think. And may discourage people from saying what they really think.

As a community organization, you should be able to get the library to link to you. You could also try to get rockawaytownship.org to link to you, but I'm not sure that they would...

There is a Rockaway forum that has several legs up over this one, it's searchable, has all the cool icons, allows html and requires a login which only needs an email addr which you can just make up. And the URL is pretty easy to remember:

Karen and Scott,

Marla and I were just discussing the bbs situation (12:30 AM Tuesday!). We are all night owls - - - maybe that is why we get along so well with Les Paul! When we get together with him, it goes til 5:00 AM typically. Ya gotta meet him - - - a regular guy who knows 'em all! Anyway, we wanted to make sure that you folks realize that there are "no strings attached" pertaining to our offer to pay for the URL name registration and potential bbs software upgrade. We will pay and you run it as you have been doing with NO INFLUENCE from us. If someone wants to say on this bbs that both me and my wife need to be put in mental instutions because of our wacko line of thinking, that is fine by us; that is an opinion that needs to be expressed as much as our own opinion needs unfettered expression.
