2135. New to board... by SandraZ1, 5/16/04 18:43 ET
I worked at Agilent for 8 years - I left a few months before they closed up the building for good. I was in touch with those on the west coast in the real estate department. There was no big effort to sell the building. In fact did you ever notice there was never a "for sale" sign on the property? This was a s direct order from CA. I never understood why they did not make the fact we were closing up "public" with in the local community. I do know that one company did have a serious interest in purchaing it back around the spring/summer of 2002 - they were sent away as I was told "they had someone in the wings with a contract". I also know there were several other companies sent away. Therefor the posts about "nobody wants the property" is just not true. I am sure other HP/Agilent people know what I am talking about.
Re the chemicals on the property - the dumping happened ALL over 15 years ago. Remediations have been made - I should know I filed a ton of paperwork on it. The DEP has records of everything - go check. I am suprised nobody has mentioned the law suit against HP/Agilent from Rockaway Twp a few years back - did you know that Agilent contaminated the water for all those on public water in Rockaway and had to fix the problem?? The fix they did will be UNDONE if more parting is added to the property.
THERE I SAID IT ALL - I have been bustin to get that out for months!
