Hi everyone, If you have not read the Blog over at the Daily Record yet you will be shocked with its content. I wrote to Fred Snowflack earlier and copied both the Chabad and Christ Church. We can all agree to disagree on the merits of the Christ Church application and we can even disagree on the impact this project will have on this community but I doubt you will find one person to disagree that the person who posted this garbage on the blog is anything short of a hate monger. I am sure he is the same one who posts on NJ.com and lies in the name of a church. Just thought I would keep you in the loop.
I am not sure if you have read NJ Senate, no. 1616 but you may want to do so. This Act is directed at the poster of the information but the moderator/manager of the site holds responsibility for the content as you do have the controls to delete items that are inappropriate. The responsibility that comes with running such a blog is not benign. The lies being told are offensive and made to cause annoyance or alarm and one could argue that race and religion are both at the core (see N.J.S.2C:33-4,a,c,d).
I am sure your intent is to open communications and discussions however the anger and hate are toxic, harassing and damaging to all. The link above was about the Parsippany Temple yet someone turned it into a matter about Christ Church and the Chabad. I have copied the Rabbi of the Chabad and Christ Church on this email as I am sure both would want to know what is being said.
I hope you and the staff of the Daily Record take a look at NJ law and moderate your blogs with full compliance with the law and open communication which our constitution provides us all.
