Hi everyone,
I recieved a call this morning from a woman here in town who reads NJ.com She asked me if she was correct in her thoughts that the items posted on NJ.com were less then truthful in regards to Voices of Rockaway being anti-religion, being against the Chabad and if I knew if the mayor profited from the mall in anyway.

My reply was as follows:
Voices of Rockaway Twp is not anti-faith - we oppose a building project, in fact we now oppose 2 building projects in town - 140 Green Pond Rd AKA Christ Church and "Bennies Hot Dog's property" AKA the proposed QuickCheck project as they are both in environmentally sensitive areas and will have significant impact on the traffic flow, environment and infrastructure of our town.
Secondly Voices of Rockaway Twp has never opposed the Chabads building project. I reached out to the Rabbi today and made sure he was clear that Voices of Rockaway Twp has never opposed their project or house of worship. The Rabbi said he never thought we did. Further Rabbi has asked that anyone with questions contact him directly his number is 625-1525. In addition please note the Rabbi has informed me that he, nor any representive of the Chabad has issued their opinion on the Christ Church project.
Lastly, I suggested she contact the mayor but I did not believe that rumor to be true in the least about his profiting from the mall. I told her that I believed it to be written from someone who wishes they had his position but lacked enough votes to be in any elected office.

I am not sure what pleasure this person seeks by spreading lies in the name of a church but I would hope that Christ Church would take some action to stop these lies. Unless this is how Christ Church thinks neighbors should act?

I know the posters on NJ.com read this board - then rant on and on in the wee hours of the morning . Please do not drag the Chabad into your lies. We all know how much you like to use houses of worship to hide behind to spread your gossip, rumors and anger but it is highly inappropriate.
