Earlier this month the applicant for development of 140 Green Pond Rd, Christ Church, attempted its latest intimidation tactic upon the planning board and the people of Rockaway Twp by means of an armed uniformed officer in the hearing room. They claimed “internet chatter” caused concern. Now that Christ Church has admitted they follow the internet banter we expect they would want to take action regarding the lies and hatred spread in their name on these sites by their “supporters”? We have NEVER seen a threat against any member of Christ Church, on the other hand building plan supporters have sent emails and internet postings telling those who oppose the plan to “live in fear”, that they are “toast” and have asked for prayers against the “enemies of God”(referring to opponents of the plan). For two years, the planning board meetings have progressed without incident. Rockaway Twp residents have questioned the applicant and been left with incomplete answers. There has been frustration, confusion, and laughter with some of the responses to questions. There has never been an angry tone from the participant, nor rude words to any member of the applicants team. Nobody should try to intimidate, threaten, or bully residents or board members from participating in a public meeting. It is time for the leadership of Christ Church to stop the drama and provide fact, testimony, and answers to the good people of Rockaway Twp. We could care less what color you are or how you choose to pray and that is something we have been clear on for over 2 years. We do care about the adverse impact a large project will have on the infrastructure, environment, community, roadways, and tax base. Adam and Lisa Salberg John and Kim Jenkins Voices of Rockaway Twp.

The Christ Church Plan for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd is just too big for the area.

Great letter Lisa - it will surely have whiny squirming for a retort - you can't have your cake and eat it too!!
These PR stunts are a depraved insult to our entire town. I hope Ms Hamilton is creating a timeline database of all these heavy-handed, double-standard, underhanded attacks on Rockaway's elected officials and it's residents.
I would like to head directly to the courts - our PB meetings have turned into a big charade and PR sounding board for this would-be developer and his PR firm.
Any Judge worth his salt will end this injustice in short order.
