The topic of who could get into Heaven was heavily debated over the last weeks. As an example, participants asked if even Hitler could get to Heaven upon accepting Jesus.
Many here claim to be Christians, yet I am unsure why the obvious Biblical answer to this question was never offered by any of them, nor by the Catholic Priests consulted by Mr. Maier.
The answer can be found in the 23rd chapter of the Gospel of Luke. This chapter recounts the moments preceding Christ's crucifixion. It tells about 2 additional men being crucified along with Jesus. These men are convicted criminals who have obviously led evil lives and commited many crimes which have now led them to their crucifixion.
39One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him:
"Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"
40But the other criminal rebuked him.
"Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
42Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
43Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

Does it lessen the environmental impact on our township?
Does it lessen the traffic impact on our area?
Does it lessen the future growth of Christ Church if they are approved for 140 Green Pond Road?

Well Iread the traffic reports...and while I am no expert, I did speak to one whosaid that the traffic reprots ARE indeed bogus.
They do not take into account the already approved building that is presently going on, The have a even arrival spread...and other flaws that I cannot, nor do I care to scratch my head to recite. That info will come out and be present by our side.
As far as the township's growth keeping pace...How can you say this..they presently have 5,000 members (25% of Rockaway's population.....and at their past growth rate could equal our population in a few years!!) Highly unlikley...take a look at the numbers....
I am not angry, but I am a concerned resident of the town....and a citizen that believes that my personal rights are no less than a Churches rights. I oppose RLUIPA....and for some shared reasons and for some additional reasons oppose CC moving to Rockaway.

Environmental impact is a major factor; doubling the building space and parking lot with old oil leaking hoopties in an extremely environmentally sensitive area IS impact that we can and will not allow to happen.
How about the proposed highlands action eliminating any new construction right through the valley that the proposed CC is in? Finally a liberal sponsored law that actually helps OUR community. Keep shopping, Newark isn't a part of the highlands and there are many more teen pregnancies there.

FYI, I point it out where ever I see it. So, yes, in my town if it happens I get involved. Sitting back and saying nothing is tacit approval. So, "your town has some too" is just not good enough.
