Today I attended my father-in-laws unveiling. An unveiling is a Jewish custom held about 1 year after death. It is a time to reflect on the life of the person who has passed and a time to look forward knowing that this person is forever part of his/her loved ones and a time to reflect and know that your loved one is in the presents of G-d.
There was a reading that struck me it was as follows:
Psalm 15 1 LORD, who shall abide in Thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in Thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart; 3 he that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor spreadeth a reproach against his neighbor; 4 in whose eyes a vile person is contemned, but he honoreth them that fear the LORD; he that taketh an oath to his own hurt, and changeth not; 5 he that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh a bribe against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
My Father-in-laws lived a good part of his life here in Rockaway Twp. I know he was one of the kindest and most caring people I knew on this earth. I being his daughter-in-law and a christian would make one think there may have been tension due to the differneces in our religions. He never judged mine, nor I his. We respected each other and respected each others beliefs. We discussed the different views we had about religion and always appreciated hearing each others view. We joked about our differences and had a few good laughs over the years about it.
Those who are attempting to turn the application for the development of 140 Green Pond Rd into a matter about anything other than the facts surrounding the APPLICATION... you are sadly mistaken. Attempts to paint Voices of Rockaway Twp as an anti-christian, or racist organization are 100% incorrect. Frankly, the attempts to distract focus from the application at hand appear to be desperate acts meant to confuse and incite, rather than discuss and educate.
Tolorance has always been part of Rockaway Twp. and will remain part of our town forever. The facts surrounding the application speak volumes and our concerns lie within.
