Time to request public hearing!

The DEP has deemed Christ Churches application for exemption of the highlands complete and it is open for public comment. As of this date they have not agreed to a public hearing on this matter. The resident of Rockaway Twp and all concerned for the further of the Highlands need to demand a hearing.

Material facts to note:

· The land is in the core of the Highlands 140 Green Pond Rd Rockaway Twp NJ – may be listed as 150 Green Pond Rd, formally known as Agilent or Hewlet Packard Property.

· The plan calls for underground parking garage within 300 and 350 feet of 2 c-1 waterways

· The parking needed on the existing impervious surfaces will be used at double its current intensity.

· The land was previously deemed wetlands and in 1979 the previous owner illegally filled the land and erected a building on it.

· They seek to expand the width of the road to within 100 feet of a c-1 waterway

· The town well is within 500 feet of the proposed building and underground parking

· The land is over 100 acres and nearly half is wetlands

· There are endangered animals either living or nesting on this property - bog turtles, Indiana bats and salamanders.

· The Split Rock Reservoir is up stream of this site - it feeds into the Beaver Brook which leads directly though this property and later joins up with the Rockaway River then to the Boonton Reservoir. The water of millions of people is directly affected by this property.

Please submit your requests to:

Great information Lisa!! These are the very kind of facts that the rEV would love to sweep under the rug so to speak. I plan to also ask about potentional fines for cc not reporting the myriad of changes over the years.

Is there any one else at the DEP that should recieve copies of our concerns???

Keep up the great work!!

Don't wait, Send your letter now

Here is what was stated in the DR. If I read it correctly, you need to get your comments to the DEP 30 days past 11/2 (Dec 2nd).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, the church's new application for an exemption from the Highlands Act has been deemed administratively complete by the Department of Environmental Protection. Notice that the application had been received was published in the Nov. 2 DEP bulletin.

Anyone wishing to be heard on the plans should submit written comments to the DEP within 30 days. Comments should be sent to: Terry Pilawski, Chief, Division of Watershed Management, Bureau of Watershed Regulation, P.O. Box 418, Trenton, N.J. 08625.

A DEP spokesman said that as of yesterday, no public hearing on the application had been scheduled.

This process is just a charade. It is just a whitewash to give the impression that they considered the application more carefully. The final analysis is that the CC will maintain its exemption. This is just another waste of time for everyone involved.

Mark my words.

I see childish exhuberance about this DEP thing. After the decision is rendered by the DEP, then why don't you just make me eat my words? Until then, why don't you just shut up?

Rat why don't you drive down to CC in Montclair on Sunday, hand out a few fliers about your house, you could try during the week in the AM at 140 GPR. Get on it and sell it already so we don't have to listen to your negative attitude.

I'm sure the Rev can hook you up with a buyer. Make sure you mention you'll give him a 10% commission payment.

Maybe his bodyguards are looking for a place?

LOL

Nikki,

I really do apologize to the entire community that my prognostications just so happen to always come true. Please forgive me for that and any other transgressions that I may have committed to anyone whilst living in RT.

In the meantime, if I could sell this place to one of irelands cronies, trust me that I would! Those that have expressed interest immediately fall out of love with the place as soon as they find out what is going on in town here. That has occurred twice thus far.

As I am sure that you will, thanks in advance for accepting my heartfelt act of contrition!

Rat

"prognostications just so happen to always come true."
Then why didn't you start selling your house sooner? What a crock you are. And you are the one that got RT into so much trouble. Why didn't you know that too and kept your mouth shut instead of embarrassing the whole town. You were even an embarrassment at one of the meetings. Thankfully you stopped going to those. I put you in the same class as Doty.

As I have told you before, Thinker, I wanted to sell this house at the beginning of this fiasco. I had no faith that the township would do the right thing and take the property by Eminent Domain. And the township did not.

How do you feel about that, buddy? Your only chance to save the township from devastation by ireland is down the tubes. And, I was the earliest advocate of that action.

If you are not, you should be crying in your beer that you did not push the officials to do that.

And, I am not an embarassment to the Township; quite the contrary, I identified a religious biggot named Matthew, alias Ireland, who said that:

"I don't see them (the Jews) getting anyone into heaven as far as I can tell"

I outed the guy. And I should be embarassed? No!

As for selling the house, it took a few years to convince the wife that the township is down the toilet; originally she thought that the blight would blow over. As you can see it did not.

Now, she is a believer.

Rat,

So are you saying that the statement by the head CC PR hack is not true?

"Weinstein said the loss in local tax revenues would be offset by up to $11 million in annual economic activity generated by Christ Church if the building plan gains approval -- from church members buying houses in Rockaway Township and "job creation," to increased shopping at the mall and elsewhere.

"The town will benefit from an infusion of new purchasing activity," Weinstein said."

RT has been had !!!!

LOL! Ya think so?

btw - who down there at cc are going to be able to purchase RT houses but for the big $hits? Get real. The only way that his flock would be able to purchase homes here will be after a total collapse in the local housing market.

Rat, just wait until the church opens to sell your house. You can put a sign on your lawn for those sitting in traffic on Meridan Rd that says "If you lived here you would be in church now"

PS: Your comment on members not being able to afford to move here. The main reason he is moving to Morris county is to attract new members with a higher net worth.
