The "Driving Force" behind traffic estimates will go totally unanswered. It involves the ultimate size projections of cc; in other words, it involves its growth projections. Ireland does not answer questions on growth. All else pertaining to traffic impact manipulations is irrelevent.
So, why bother going? It is a total waste of everyones time. Besides, cc's status is not going to be judged by the PB. It will be judged by a Christian Conservative Supreme Court in three years.
Yeah, I am positive that nothing that any of you have to say at a planning board meeting with make any difference in the outcome of this thing whatsoever.
in my studies on the report, I felt it largely deficient in 3 areas, as far as megas go
1. The # of people per car they used is way too high, there will be more cars than he said (cc agrees which is why they are fighting so hard for more parking ... do the math 2500 people divided by 15oo spots = 1.7 people per car)
2. the wed. night traffic #'s are way too low... expect 30-40 % of the congregation driving at the tail end of rush hour... probably about 1000 cars
3. the 2nd service numbers are too low.... this servvice will be much more crowded than the 1st.
they have been trying to add parking wherever they can ... as to how many the church in montclair holds... it is 900 adults, not counting overflow rooms & children's rooms ... 140 GPR could probably handle another 2000 in addition to the 2500 in the sanctuary... 4000-5000 total attendance is pretty typical if a 2500 seat sanctuary is full
typically a mega has 30-40% of the congregation in attendance on wed.
also....I think 2500 people is a very low estimate for the 2nd service of a church that claims to have 5200 members... and probably several thousand more who attend, but who are not members
"I think 2500 people is a very low estimate for the 2nd service of a church that claims to have 5200 members"

You guys crack me up. I thought 5200 was his membership three years ago. No commentary on that? We are supposed to believe that he is expanding from a 25,00 square foot church to a 300,000 ft ^2 one for the same membership.
Why was Thuman, the world renowned expert in the Megachurch growth and its sociological phenemonen not hired as an expert witness for the RT side of things? Oh, I know. He would have cost the taxpayers too much money. He gets two thousand bucks to appear as an expert. We can not spend that kind of money to make a point, can we? So, just trash the township, but at least we will have saved two grand.

Makes me sick.
Firstly, it's Thuma...Scott Thuma. Secondly, how bout you come to a meeting and attempt to make a difference in our town instead of ranting "tolja so" days after we already did somthing about it.
As you shall see, when you try to sell a house in RT, people want to know what is going on at 140 GPR. And when they find out, that is the last that you will hear of them. For some strange reason, nobody wants to live in a town dominated by a Megachurch.
And that is our experience with this matter from the front lines. Hands down, this guy is personally costing us a fortune. Ultimately, that will effect you too. Maybe not now, but later.
Blame your local government for gross mis-management and incompetance who was always praying for the state DEP to bail em out.
So, we are getting exactly what we deserve by not taking our destiny into our own hands.
