There has been a lot of discussion regarding what my opinions are regarding cc and its IMPACT on RT. I decided to list them all so that my opions are clear. These opinions are not those of VORT not anyone else in town, necessarily. They are not even the opinions of my wife. Nonetheless, here they are:
1. CC is run more like a business that that of a church. This is evidenced by the fact that it has a D&B rating for its IMPACT Ministries division and also the fact that Ireland himself allowed himself to be interviewed in "Church Business" Magazine in Dec. 2003. I do not view Churches as businesses. My opinion.
2. CC has grown at an anualized average growth rate of 26% per year over the last 10 years. That is based on MY mathematical assessment of the raw data testimony of Ireland himself. It is my opinion.
3. Ireland will not admit to any growth projections for his enterprise here in RT. He is just going to spend 31 million bucks for the heck of it. Well folks, it just does not work that way in the real world. Someone has to loan you the money and they are going to want to see revenue estimations so that the Mortgage can be comvered. The only other alternative would be that Ireland himself has 31 million in his back pocket and is willing to shoot craps with it. Ireland is a very smart man, clearly and therefore would never do such a dumb thing. Again, this is my opinion.
5. Ireland was disengenious when he testified under oath that there are no growth projections. My opinion.
6. CC will do major damage to our infrastructure. Roads, water, sewer utilization, services required by our town to support him will all be EXPECTED to be provided by him once he is in. I do not anticipate that he will beg for these things. He will insist on them. And you and I will pay for them. Once again, this is my opinion.
7. Major damage has already been done to RT property damages by this cc thing. The reason is that people want to move to Morris county to live in a quiet, serene and non-conjested area. I sincerely doubt that even Irelands parishoners would want to live here after the impact is truely noticed if this project is approved. This is the result of a comparison of real estate Market analysis's done over a period of about a year on this property. So, this is just the opinion of 3 prominent real estate organizations in this area. This is not my opinion, but I do believe them and understand why this could be so.
8. Taxes will go up not only because of the loss of over 600 K in tax revenues, but because we will have to widen roads, provide much more comprehensive emergency services such as ambulance, police and fire. At some point we will have to get away from the volunteer system and go pro on these things all the way. Also, there will be a greater impact of township overall administrative services due to CC. This is just my opinion.
9. The effect of the size of this project will have a devastating effect on the towns water supply. Just my opinion since I know the Agilent property well (pun intended). Just my opinion.
10. CC will do nothing positive for this community. We already have churches and synagogues enough to satisify. Having the largest Megachurch in the state will not make us famous, it will make us infamous. Sorry if that is insulting, but it is MY OPINION.
11. Ireland is interested in the well being of the community in which he serves. I do not believe that because he is abandoning his community and closing down shop in Montclair. My opinion is that people who care about other people do not do that.
Once again, all the above items are MY OPINION. And I have a right to hold them. They may be right and they may be wrong. But it certainly is my right as a citizen to hold them no matter what anyone else thinks. What are your opinions? And if you have them, consider using your name to help stand behind them. It makes it more credible if you do.
Sorry for the myriad of spelling errors in my above post. I banged it out too fast and did not double check it before submitting it. I guess that I am pretty addicted to a spell checker which we do not have here.
