When you say "g-d" are you referring to the Creator of all that is? If so, don't you think that Creator might not mind, and actually encourage you sharing your beliefs with others, especially those who might not be aware of this Creator?
And I believe the point being made was that Christianity and Judaism are founded on certain authoratative texts that porten to be the message of The Creator to us. So for those who would discount what is written in these books, why would they bother even being associated with movements squarely based upon those books? Put more simply: Why bother going to church or synagogue if you don't believe and agree with what is in the Bible or the Torah?
i still vote for a candidate...even though i don't agree with every single one of his platforms...i still would send my child to school...even if i disagreed with the dress code (as long as i felt it didn't hurt my child)...i still go to church and worship within a community...even if i disagree with my church on a platform or two...none of the above are a waste of time...if you feel that way i feel sorry for you...b/c you have a narrow mind...and must be a lemming yourself...you should open your mind and allow yourself to form your own opinions on topics...don't follow ireland so blindly...
and no, i don't feel that i need to spread the word as to what MY PERSONAL relationship with g-d is...b/c it is just that...personal...if someone is unaware that it is possible to have a relationship with g-d...i would suggest that they talk with a priest or a rabbi and get direction from someone trained to deal with another's lack of faith - it's always better to learn the original teachings and then draw your conclusions...
1. It amazes me that you guys are still over here discussing this! It sucks that this board doesn't "promote" still-active topics to the top. I'll see if that's an option.
2. I don't think this person is Ted. It's not his style, in my opinion.
3. I find it hard to believe that you really think there are people out there who are not "aware" of the possibility that God exists. I mean, really, do you think just because we're in a rural area that you're some kind of missionaries in the Amazon? Are you trying to convert the Aborigines here?
Again I ask, do you intend to go door to door like Jehovah's Witnesses in Rockaway?
p.s. while some of us may not want to hear some things others of us say, freedom of speech (with the exception of outright slander--and simply because we don't have the time to get involved in the lawsuits) is welcome on this board. And it goes both ways...
