When one person swears at another, he is attempting to insult that person. He is trying to say "You are beneath me, I am better than you". In using a revolting word, the speaker is trying to project that sense of disgust onto the listener, is he not?

Of course, what we realize when we grow up, is that using such language only exposes us as what we really are: insecure and afraid that we really might be as insignificant and worthless as we often feel. That's why those who have matured realize that there is no need for that kind of language. There are much more effective and precise ways of communicating.
