The DEP has begun to deal with this entire matter and it is clear they are not going to take being lied to. I have also spoken to other officials in the past few weeks - we have many friends in high places who are working hard to protect the environement and the impact on our community.
Based on the fact it appears that someone is about to have a complete melt down over on NJ.com - as I think they have created some dark deep plot in there warped imagination - I am going to expand on this statement.
If you saw the article in the Star Ledger quoting the Highlands council, Serria Club, and several other highly respected environmental organizations you have seen quotes from many of the friends I have refered to. We have other "friends" as well and what we all have in common is simple - we all seek to protect the environment for ALL NJ resident.
To address some of the lies on the NJ.com board on a forum that does not delete (GLK-Gotta Love Karen!) - let me say that the ownership of the property in front of 140 Green Pond Rd has been discussed in the meetings and ALL the plans had to be revised because all the set backs were calculated incorrectly. As of last week Morris County has not approved any plans for lights on Green Pond Rd or anything related to this plan and it does not appear likely that they will approve anything as the data has changed so many times they have had to restart the process several times and from what I hear are not happy about all the extra work this sloppy work has created for them.
This is all going to take time and as time goes by the handful of CC supporters will get more negative and there will likely be more atttacks and all in the name of Christ Church, If I were a memeber I would be ashamed of the actions of my peers. Imagine a "spokesperson" for a chuch asking people to pray against the "enemies of God" and by this he is refering to residents of a town who are attempting to protect God's earth.
I am sure they will attack again and attempt to twist words and misguide as many as possible.

That would immediately be a very long thread K. He has been doing the same to me for some time now, trying to stir up some controversy and get a reaction. I wont bite. I delete them without even bothering to waste my time reading them. I just ignore the poor pitiful fool. It must be tough trying so hard to matter and just getting shot down at every turn. Oh well he brings it on himself. I doubt there is anyone left in RT that doesnt think of him as the village fool.

Whereas I understand the temptation in doing this, I am in strong disagreement with the publishing of PRIVATE messages on a public messageboard regardless of who they're coming from and/or how unsavory the messages might be.
I apologize if I've offended anyone in stating my personal belief/opinion on this, however, having been a recipient OF such (having had a PRIVATE message made public) makes me more sensitive to this. To be quite honest, it's as the expression goes: it's not really something I'd wish on my own worst enemy. By a similar token, though, I haven't any concerns with public replies TO a private message (I've seen a scattering of those here).
I support Mr. Chuck M's suggestion to delete delete delete without even opening said PRIVATE message if it's from someone one wishes NOT to have anything to do with.
I wanted people to see the way this person speaks to people privately. This poster is nothing but a cyber bully and I will not tolorate his behavior on a message board or in a private message.
The only reason this person sent a private message was becaused he is banned from posting and he is somehow - due to a flaw in the system - still able to PM.

I disagree with Aquarius. If you are offended (or just do not want to be contacted by any particular person) what better way to discourage that sort of activity than to post their utterances publically.
Lisa, I support your methods entirely. I suspect that they will be effective in achieving your goals.
While I understand both Lisa and Rational's points of view completely ... I guess I feel differently in how to handle an unwanted situation (due to system flaw or otherwise). I just believe that private messages ARE not meant to be shared publicly and I think it's too risky to start with condoning that. From personal experience and for personal reasons, ignorance through deletion and/or non-reading of private emails/messages is my preferred method of discouragement, that's all I'm saying. However someone else chooses to do so is their own business, too. (just that I might not agree WITH their chosen method)
What about the 'right to privacy'? I know, I know - I'm gonna hear about how this particular "eaglemic" does not deserve any right to anything etc etc etc -- Please understand I'm talking in general terms and not singling out any one individual or another.
I guess there are risks involved in everything having to do with anything 'cyber' - private or otherwise. We're all well aware of THAT, I hope!
I'm sorry, I too agree with Lisa. If you send someone a hateful, nasty email, especially someone you don't even know, then you have no rights. Before sending any kind of email always say to yourself, would I want this to be seen by the world? That's the chance you take in cyberspace.

That, to me, DOES make a difference altogether .. somewhat similar to public places that post signs that say "We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles." A sort of caveat emptor if you will.
I guess, in thinking more about this, it would also be OK (to me) if the person, who receives a private message from someone (wanted or otherwise), were to contact the sender of the private message (privately or otherwise), to let them know that anything further they DO send privately MIGHT be made public. Being 'put on notice,' so's to speak in that knowing ahead of time that what one is presuming is a private message MIGHT end up being made a public message. This then does put the burden of decision (of what's posted privately) on the shoulder of the poster for sure.
Given all this, though, I really DO understand the cyberbully aspect of what's going on here at this time, though. In some ways, it's not that much different than the schoolyard bully and it's well known of the conflicts and controversy of how best to deal with real-life bullies. What works for some doesn't work for others and so on.

Over the past 2 years Voices of Rockaway Twp has encouraged all Rockaway Twp Residents to have their voices heard, and they have in record numbers. He can not stop himself. This is a police matter now and he can not stop. I recieved this a few hours ago. Comfirmation of the identity of "eagle" will come from via legal channels. The emails recieved from Ted Doty stating such things as "you should live in fear" and "you are toast" are also being given to the police. Your actions are clearly willful.
I have made it clear in no uncertain terms have told you not to contact me. Regardless of my email address or this message board being available to others who have reason to contact me and have never harrassed me, you on the other hand have and continue to even after you are clearly aware that I have been in contact with the police and have told you to stop contacting me. More proof he has a complete disregard for the DEMAND to stop communicating. I suggest you consult legal advice and you will see that there is clear law on such matters and YOU are guilty of harrassment. The judge will need to explain this to you. Voices of Rockaway Twp is a 501 c 3 and operates within the law. No company or organization ,public or private, is required to endure harrassment from anyone. Comments such as "live in fear" are clearly intended to harrass and serve no other purpose. Personal attacks against me have nothing to do with Voices.
