Next planning board meeting

July 25, 2005 at the Mun. Bldg. at 8:00pm

Some of us will be on vacation for this meeting so please make sure you get all of your available friends, neighbors and friends from neighboring towns to attend.

It is unclear at this point what will be happening at the meeting as the plans are so different that all reports must be re-done to evaluate all aspects of the plan.  If it were any other plan in front of the planning board it would be deemed "denied" and the applicant invited to re-apply, which is what should be done in this case.  The DEP has the new plans on hand and has not issued any comment yet as to if it will or will not get an exemption to the Highalnds, therefore there is no real way the planning board can hear the applications as they do not know if they have authority to do so.

Best wishes to all,

Lisa

Just so no one forgets the other side of the coin, there have been PB generated delays and the appointment of a PB member with a well known conflict of interest.

I predict that the board will find a way to continue the hearings

Please, Joe Chovanek is one of the most politically correct people I know.

Please stop suggesting that there was anything underhanded in his appointment. Let's let go of at least that portion of your conspiracy theory, shall we?

And, while we're at it, remember the theory where you suggested that there was a big conspiracy and the town would take over the Agilent property for a school. Now you're on the other board saying the opposite--that the town should have taken over the property and VORT is against it.

The mayor allowed the mall area to be overbuilt and now isn't protecting the Green Pond Road corridor. WHAT?!

I guess the point is to confuse the reader to the point where they don't know who's the bad guy and who's the good guy...? Whatever the point is, it's bizarre.

I wasn't speaking of Joe Chovanec.  My reference was to the fact that ALL Planning Board members, including the mayor are aware that Chovanec's property at 161 was sub-divided, 3 parcels were sold to a custom home builder in Bound Brook, and a new road (Cody Court) was legally approved to provide access to the parcels sold.

Further, I don't know anyone north of Meridan who isn't aware that Chovanec operates a business (Swisher) from 161B GPR.

Every member of the council and planning boards owns property somewhere in RT or they wouldnt be residents. Please knock off the crap. OK so no one told him he had to recuse himself with regards to CC votes. Yes they should have. Bad, bad. Who cares. He is still allowed to question the applicant and provide insights and opinions on it.

Chuck, the point is that Dimin, the mayor, etc knew he owns the property AND they knew it was a violation of statute.  And BTW I'm not 100% familiar with the laws but I don't believe he's even allowed to be present at the hearings.  Much less question the applicant

And might I add...the Chavoneks sold that Swisher franchise quite some time ago.  Not that it's particularly relevant to anything.

So much for you "I don't know anyone who doesn't know..." b.s. answer.

I guess it's YOU who doesn't know.

Karen,

The franchise may or may not hve been sold...as you say, it doesn't matter. The Planning Board's knowledge of both his ownership and the violation is.  Pleas don't lose siight of the point.
