Does anyone have information on what it would take to extend the sewer line to connect the Hibernia and Telemark areas of the Township? I would hope that if CC doesn't move in and absorb an allocation for thousands of its members there might be some allocation that could be used. I'm not sure what the cost would be but it would seem that the housing density in these sections of RT would make sewer hookups reasonably cost effective.
Lou Sceusi spoke to that issue two or three months ago at a Council meeting. He wasn't specific but stated that the Mall revenue wasn't enough. He was also mum on mall revenue but since that night the papers published that the mall's accessed value is 2.9 billion; at the current municiple tax rate that would put revenue at about 16.5 million. The Daily Record's Abbott Koloff told me two years ago that RT anticipated 18 million. So we have an idea of revenue, not cost.
In the past, several developers would have extended the line in exchange for approval of projects but they were denied.
Treatment capacity is a critical issue as well. The court order giving Pond View Estates sewer rights placed a significant load on current capacity. So the Towns that comprise the sewer district will have to increase capacity soon and the cost will be high
Without an increase, none of the municipalites in the district can grow. For example, if there was no capacity , the Mall could not have been expanded.
Since the Pond View court order, towns within the district have effectively been in a race: grow and increase tax revenue while you can because we will soon have no more treatment capacity.
I have no problems paying for infrastructure improvements that produce more TAX dollars. I have a big problem paying for infrastrure improvement that simply improve the lifestyle of a self proclaimed Prophet who does not even come from our County, much less our Township. F33ck Him! and F33ck you.
The late Norm Hendrickson former RT Mayor and head of the sewer district predicted the need to expand almost ten years ago. Christ Church or not the system will soon need more capacity.
All past growth is to blame but the straw, according to Hendrickson was Pond View Estates
