Denville BT and Mt Lakes

Does anyone think this traffic disaster is only a RT issue? I have emailed the mayors of Boonton Twp. Denville and Mt lakes to notify them of their responsibility to be aware of the terrible traffic that will invade their towns if this mega-"church" went through. I urge any concerned parties to email the neighboring mayors as well and use this issue of concern for our neighbors as a topic for any letters to the editor etc. The plan of emtying onto Meriden to Farber Hill to Rock. Valley to Diamond Spring will kill the towns on week ends in particular. The Boulevard in Mt lakes will also become clogged. I think we need to educate our neighbors that this is their problem as much as ours-their property values will drop as well as their quailty of life. Why did so many of us move here from Essex County years ago? Certainly quality of life and traffic are two reasons. Once it is changed it is gone for ever.

Good points.  The question that I have is whether the traffic impacts that would occur in those towns are within the scope of what can be considered by the rockaway twp planning board.  I wonder if those other towns that have a stake in CC's plan can be included in the planning board process in some manner.  I hate to think that the impact on other towns would be ignored.  Obviously there would be a tremendous traffic jam at diamond spring road in denville assuming the traffic actually takes that route.  An alternative that needs to be addressed is what would happen if people decide that going through BT and denville is too much of a hassle and start making U turns all over the place.  I'm not sure how you calculate how many drivers do one or the other. This plan is clearly an accident waiting to happen.

Isn't it very interesting how a man who does not have a single stake in our communities can turn things upside down for his own profit?  Keep in mind that none of this cults followers are from RT and probably not from Denville, Mountain Lakes, or Boonton Township.

As for juristiction, I guess ireland is now making this a county issue.  Perhaps the Morris County Board of Freeholders needs to get involved.

great point rat - it should become a County issue if the new plans call for utilizing other towns for traffic relief. I wonder just how far this pious reverand is willing to push the borders of insanity before even he realizes the folly his ego has taken him too...
