You exist to praise and become closer with our Creator. The closer that you understand our relationship with G-d, the more intimate we are with our divine presence with the Lord in not only G-d's view, but our own.

and to the short-sighted soul who referenced the actions of his mom & dad, although technically he's correct, I would suggest he expand his thinking past himself and try and answer the question as it pertains to humanity as a whole.
