Todddavid: Curse or Blessing in Disguise?

has he hurt the Towhnship's cause more by his slander and incinuations?

or has he helped the cause by raising awareness, keeping interest on the forum, and motivating us to do more research adn keep on our toes?

(Not to mention by acting like a total repetitive jerk when he makes his stupid statements. anyone could see thru that).

I've spent a couple hours back and forth working out a reply to this post, in between projects at work so I apologize if it rambles or seems disjointed or illogical--

Actually, this possibility has crossed my mind too. This individual has caused us all a great deal of frustration and aggravation. I think about him a lot. But not in a good way.

Whoever he is, he’s a dirty, lousy scoundrel of a person, but that’s beside the point.

From my perspective, Toddavid as a force in this battle, is a mixed bag.

DOWNSIDE:
The casual observer might take his words at face value--accept them as fact--especially since he’s been able to magically delete all of our rebuttals. At worst, this could make the “sheep” in the audience jump on the bandwagon and decide all is OK and follow “most in town”--watching comedy central instead of going to the planning board meetings for some real entertainment.

UPSIDE:
* His constant ranting and repetitive posts should tell anyone with a brain that for some reason he’s practicing overkill (i.e. “he who protesteth too much”). I think this might cast some suspicion upon the validity of his statements.

* The intensity of our interactions on the board has made us (as opposers) so much stronger, smarter, and more determined. We’ve learned about ordinances, procedures, and laws that six months ago, many of us had no interest in. I doubt we’ll turn a complacent eye to a local project in the newspaper again.

* If our posts had been met with lukewarm response, I doubt any of us would be corresponding today. (In all honesty, what fun would it be?) More people post and become better informed because of the conflicts. A truer measure of support vs. opposition for this church’s project can now be observed by taking out the extremes (Todddavid’s many personalities, and VORT members) and looking at what’s left on the board:

1. Church Supporters minus Toddavid = how many?
2. Church Opposers minus VORT members = how many?

Again, anyone with half a brain could see what the true picture is.

* I for one, have become acquainted with several great people who I probably never would have met (including Chuck!), and have become much more informed on the history and facts about our town. That’s a good thing.

Ultimately, I wish toddavid, whoever he/she/it is, didn’t decide to mess with our township, because I find him/her/it very annoying.

On the bright side, again, I have to say a big “thank you” to the folks from VORT for opening our eyes! If not for them, we’d all be oblivious, sitting on the sidelines shrugging, just like most in town.

Something to ponder ..

(( ... constant ranting and repetitive posts should tell ... that for some reason he’s practicing overkill ... The intensity of our interactions on the board has made us ... stronger, smarter, and more determined... etc ))

I'm out on a limb with this speculation ... BUT ... could it be possible that the the overkill was perhaps deliberate all along ... with the intent of intensity of strength and determination???

It's really sneaky if it was ...

(GASP!)lol

Conspiracy theory at its best!

Someone creates a character on the message board just to stir the crowd into a frenzy...

Nah, doesn't seem logical to me, I doubt anyone truly against the church's plan would take the chance that bystanders (not you personally, lol) would take him at his word. We want facts, not confusion.

I think that it's the supporting side, being short-sighted and inadvertantly helping us. Rah!
