On the "other" board some questions have been posted asking if VORT will support a school on the Agilent property. VORT has a meeting this weekend to discuss several matters and this is one of them.
At this point I think it is safe to say that VORT can not support or oppose this proposal as it is not a final plan. There are pros and cons to a school on the Agilent property which have to be evaluated in great detail.
We will make our postion known when it is appropriate. As with the planning board process we ask that ALL resident get involved in the process and learn ALL the facts regarding the idea of a new school on the Agilent Property. I think many people have become involved and interested in our local government and I hope it stays this way for many years to come. Development in Rockaway Twp has to be controlled and our Board of Education needs to the voice of the residents, please get involved and stay involved.
