I too had many posts deleted from NJ.com; of course they were all pro-church.
I also have first hand experience with the inner workings at the nj forum. About 8 years ago I hosted a NJ.com web- forum. The forum bore my name and in general very liberal viewpoints were expressed.
In one instance, In expressed an extremely liberal comment, in a very condecending manner... to make a long story short, the site was 'hacked', an obscene photo was displayed and the site was shut down for a day. Lesson; nj .com is easily hacked.
Further NJ.com was just starting and their owners (The Star Ledger) were attempting to generate as many 'hits' as possible - so they could sell advertisements. Regularly, Ledger editors would anonymously comment just to stir the pot. I repeat, relax. Deleted posts ain't that big of a deal
Gee, thanks Ted, I feel so much better now that you have told us to relax. Deleted posts might not be a big deal to you, but of course they are only deleting pro-Rockaway postings, while letting Todd and his ilk run amok on that forum.
... Personally, I think those who frequent the other forum on a regular basis see it for what it is ... and also see the effects it has on the other members/visitors (excluding lurkers and non-posters) to that forum, too ...
Of course it would be very interesting to know what the 'visiting' statistics are for that web site ... specifically to see if there are any (and how many) new members and visitors joining on a regular (daily, weekly) basis ... So far as I can figure, the only potential damage can be done with only the really new visitors --- they might be clueless as to what's going on over there. Mind you, I think they'd also be able to put things together fairly quickly in their heads after reading some of the repetitive, mindless postings put out by the same posters (eg. todddavid et al).
It's already evident to everyone else (i.e. frequent visitors) that there certainly seems to be something fishy going on over there in that big 'ol nj.com messageboard pond ... wouldn't surprise me in the least that someone's having a good chuckle at seeing the hackles they raise when they post their 'baited' (and repetitive) messages ...
Again, my neutral, and personal observations and opinions only,
You’re kidding, right? You’re really not looking for “free speech” and the “truth”. Free speech would mean applauding the presence of people like Todddavid. And judging from your past posts, truth is only your view of the world..
To Toddxposed,
As I stated, I too have been deleted from NJ.com. You get deleted, I get deleted and we’re hardly on the same side. So plain and simple, where’s the bias?
The point I am trying to make is that while certain peolple seem to grt away with posting ANYTHIG they want, others (myself included) are banned after a few days of posting our opinions on the CC proposal.
Ted - if you don't mind sharing, can you tell me the nature of your posts that ended up in the round file? Thanks.
I hear(read) your frustration, ToddXposed ... and sympathize with your concerns, too .... I guess the only point I'm trying to make is that there does not seem to be any rhyme, reason or rationale for what's going on with the banning of posts on the other messageboard .. and, from what I can tell from reading their posted rules ... they're totally within *their* rights to do as they wish with the postings put on their messageboard, and will likely to continue to do so (at the disgust and frustration of yourself and others, and at the support and condonement of others, too) ...
Frustrating? Yes of course.
Changeable? I have my doubts.
What To Do? We each and all have different ways of how we choose to handle the things as they are. I prefer to remain as lurker/observer over there; others prefer to take on the battle so's to speak ... but (I suspect) we almost ALL come to the same conclusions. (shrug)
It just goes to show you can't believe everything you read. The media is constantly swayed one way or the other to whoever's side has the most money and or backing. Don’t believe for one moment that any other media venue is neutral either. CNN is very liberal and FOXnews is very conservative.
History is the same way, remember, the winning side wrote and edited the history books.
tED, yes, it's free speech on this forum. You are the proof. If it wasn't your stupid ass (in my humble opinion) would have been banned and all of your posts deleted (by me your humble "moderator" for lack of a better title). Especially after all the dumb and potentially slanderous things you have said in the very recent past.
