Town Council meeting

Hi everyone,

I just got home from the town council meeting.  It was a nice night they had the entire MK Ice Hockey team there to recieve recongnition for their new status as NJ CHAMPS!!!  The Neighbor News was there with a photographer - unfortunately they were the only paper present at the meeting.

The Mayor read a statement about the federal law suit brought about by Christ Church and the general bunch of nonsense contained in it.  The mayor was clear in his position - We will take the high road and we will fight to protect Rockaway Twp and that ALL are equal in the eyes of the town.  No one land owner has rights that are greater then someone elses rights and we are all held to the same standards.

During the public portion of the meeting I addressed the council and thanked them for the efforts of the past and thanked them for fighting for our town.  I told them clearly that 4 residents of Rockaway Twp "spearheaded" Voices of Rockaway Twp.  I asked them to keep up the good fight and thanked them again.

The question was raised "will the meetings go on?"  the answer was yes they will continue.  It is obvious that CC wants the board to stop before they have issued all testimony.  There is a great deal of information that CC has yet to provide.  I am still concerned that the bulling tactics of CC may cloud the facts - I remain hopeful that the facts will outway the lies and misleading data provided by the applicant, CC, and that the board will rule appropriately.

Huff and puff all you want CC - but you know this case was not ripe and you acted way too soon.  I can only suggest one more time that you do indeed look west... try Kenvil.  Hercules is .3 miles off of Rt 80 and right on Rt 46 the land is partially clear and you can build whatever you want.  Some of the land needs clean up and is concidered "brownfields" this means lots of federal and state funds.  You were looking for the perfect location - well you are really close - - just 5 more miles up Rt 80!

I hope to see EVERYONE at next weeks planning board meeting at the municipal building - try to be there at 7:45 it is going to be packed and the parking lot is small.

Good Night!

Lisa
