Internet troll On the Internet, a troll is a person who posts messages that create controversy or an angry response without adding content to the discussion (sound like anyone we know), often intentionally. Trolls often resort to innuendo or misdirection in the pursuit of their objective, which is to create controversy for its own sake, discredit those with whom they disagree, or sabotage discussion by creating an intimidating atmosphere (Boy, we're right on target here). There is some generally-accepted wisdom about dealing with Internet trolls: "Don't feed the trolls, that will only encourage them." That is, do not respond to them, that is the attention they desire. Somebody who does respond to them is likely to hear "YHBT. YHL. HAND." from other members of the group, which means "You have been trolled. You have lost. Have a nice day." Folks - let's ALL STOP feeding the troll at nj.com. When he posts - IGNORE him. Half the posts originate from him- let them go unanswered. We ALL know what he is. The above statement about trolls is very true in this case. If you answer him, your answer will either be deleted, or he will make sure to answer your answer. Look at the nj.com board - he ALWAYS makes sure to get the last word in on every conversation thread. Everyone - please repeat after me, "I [state your name], will not respond to todddavid on the nj.com board. No matter how angry his posts make me. No matter how many pseudonyms he makes up. The world and Rockaway Township will be better for my actions."
