Some History

Did you folks know that some Edison related history occurred here at 136 Meriden Road here in town?  Here are the details if you are interested in knowing about them.  BTW - this activity spawned the creation of an internation corportation which produces Forensics Audio Software for government agencies around the world, including the US Marines, FBI, CIA, DEA, and the rest of the alphabet soup of the government world.  Yup, it happened here.

Check out this link, albeit olde.  This hobby started a major DSP software corporation right here in RT.

Just thought that you might want to realize that this was not just an "Evangelical Church Town."  It would be a real pity for it to go down as such with no other redeeming qualities.

Just a short sidebar on this - - -

We did not advertise to the world at large that this activity was going on here at 136 Meriden Rd at that time.  The reason was security.  We had "priceless" one-of-a-kind test pressings from the West Orange Edison Archives here in this homestead for transfer to the Digital Domain.  We did it very quietly, but it was done and it was done HERE in RT!  It is now preserved in perputituity in the digital domain.

Many musical luminaries have been here because of this projects underground knowledge, including Les Paul (many a time).  As a matter of fact, Les's very first recordings were transferred and restored here at this locale in this laboratory.

It is such a shame to realize that the Daily Record would never pick up on this story about Edison and RT.  It really is an important one - - - after all - - - how many towns in the world have had the entire Edison Unreleased Output from 3 years of recording cycled through a private residence (and done in secret) such that the world could experience these recordings and that they might last for generations to come?

Hey Rob - - - give me a call and I will give you a personal interview about that project.  (The writer laughs).  It will never happen, folks - - - another faithful prognostication of mine.

Wow - how impressive.

Perhaps we should start a campaign to have Craig's house turned into a historical site????

Maybe we could even get the town to condemn it, buy it out via eminent domain, and create a museum.  It would save Craig the trouble of having to sell and we'd all get to walk on the ground that Les Paul once touched (I'd never wash my shoes again).  Maybe we could even hire Daniel as the curator!!!!  To think - he even KNEW the important people who lived there (WOW - I am SOOOOO impressed)

What do you think Rockaway????

</tongue in cheek>

The most pathetc part of you is your ridiculous plea for recognition. I have met many great people in my life: Veterans who saved scores of their comerades who when asked if he was a hero they would say " No, but I was priviledged to know many".

 OR

Someone I know that has saved lives on a daily basis thru knowledge, compassion and enlightenment. And has never asked for or went looking for acknowledgement.

You are pathetic and small. You are the Fredo Corlione of Rockaway "I'm smart! Not like everybody says... like dumb... I'm smart and I want respect!

On a recent visit to our house, Craig and Marla gave us a couple of cd's of this music, which we enjoy on a regular basis. I'm sure a great deal of time and effort went into the project and we appreciate it--

Guys take it easy on Craig, his bedside manner may suck at times but his heart is in the right place. And Marla is an angel.

Nah!  A much more appropriate memorial to RT will be the Quad Towers of Irelands megachurch.  That is what the town needs to be known for.  Technology development done here is completely unimportant and irrelevent.

So tell us - why is it that on multiple times, you have felt the need to change the topic from Christ Church to Craig-the-magnificent-who-got-to-retire-early-because-he's-smarter-than-you-all-and-knows-Les-Paul-and-is-a-historically-significant-man?

I did not know that I was Craig the magnificent or referred to myself that way.  The only magnificent one that I know is Dr. Reverend Ireland, PHD.  But, if you think that I am magnificent, well, I will accept the compliment.  Thanks, Jay. An atta boy is appreciated every now and again!

Ahhh - avoidance of the question...Why the need to change the topic?  Why do we need to know about all the great things that YOU have done (and now told us about)??? Why do YOU FEEL that you must TELL US about your accomplishments.  I'm sure there are many others in our township who have great accomplishments, but yet do not feel the need to shout them out on this (or any other) forum.

Ahhh, poor Jay.  It sounds like you have a little bit of an inferiority complex.  Why, when you hear about someone elses accomplishments, it makes your weeny grow tiny it seems.  I am so sorry that I did that to you. But, yes indeed, I do have a lot of accomplishments.  If you want to hear about them all, just let me know and I shall attempt to list them.  However, the most significant one as far as this cc matter is concerned has been my uncanny ability to predict the outcome of the various events that, thus far, have surrounded the situation.  But, shoot the messenger.  That is the best idea, right?

Craig / Daniel - nope - no inferiority complex...I, an ordinary mortal, along with every other citizen of Rockaway Township (with the possible exclusion of that guy that you told us you were suing) bow to your superior intellect and recognize that however pompous I (and others) might find you that you are that one in a million person who is better than us all.  I do find your lack of humility troubling.  Marla must truly be an incredible woman to put up with such a personality.

I would suggest that if you'd like to list your accomplishments somewhere, that perhaps an IEEE conference or some other similar venue would be more appropriate.  After all, us ordinary folk would not be able to comprehend how truly wonderous and skilled you are, and therefore, would not be able to do justice to your greatness....

By the way - please do not judge tongue-in-cheek remarks as showing 'inferiority'.  I'll keep the list of my own accomplishments and failings between me and my G-d, but I will say that I am very comfortable with myself.

Jay,

Once I thought that I had made a mistake, but then I found that I was mistaken!

Poor Jay :(  you sound so much in pain over all of this.  Poor boy.

I am so threatening to you that I deeply and humbly apologize.   I really am so sorry that I have been correct in all of my prognistications pertaining to the CC affair thus.  I will work on being more incorrect in . the future.

I will start out with a few new prognistications to help you out and make you feel better about yourself - - - -

1. I predict that the good Reverend Ireland is going to see the light and drop his application for his church here in RT within the next three months.

2. Furthermore, this will happen immediately after the Planning Board rejects his application in the next month or so.

3. And, finally, the DEP will be forced by the court system to yank his exemption, just for good measure.

There ya go!

Gee rat (are you Craig or Daniel now...and why can't a 20-something year old have his own email / account???) - I'd ask you if I could quote you on your statements, but then you'd have to sue me for doing so.

If you're truly moving this time (haven't we heard that before???) - please leave the "fighting" to the combatants... MY TOWN could do without procrastinations that lead to more negative headline articles in the Daily Raggord.

...for someone who no longer has a stake in the results, you seem to take this VERY personally.  Could it be that it's not about Christ Church moving in, that it's become more about your own ego???

You know - When I started working 20+ years ago, I worked with an older gentleman that reminds me a great deal of you...He was one of the most intelligent and capable people I had ever met and he never missed an opportunity to tell everyone.  He had all kinds of great exploits in his life - from escaping Nazi Germany to flying for the RAF - to fighting for the creation of Israel (and being arrested as a spy by the British) - to speaking German, English, French, and Hebrew all as well as a native...and to eventually becoming the CTO of a Fortune 50 (at the time) company....He used EVERY OPPORTUNITY he had to show all his co-workers how much better he was than all of us.  Although I had complete respect for his knowledge, I had no respect for him as a person.  I would have had MUCH more respect for him (and you), if he had a bit of humility to match his intellect.

It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say, then don't say it.

When I bore people at a party, they think it is their fault.

Answer:  Basically, I have been right about everything that I have predicted.  I predicted that Ireland would get an exemption.  Earlier, I prediced that the Megachurch argument was specious and would not hold water.  I predicted that Ireland would not sue, but instead comply with the law.  I forced Ireland to not provide a cap of 25,000 members, thus proving my earlier prognostications that he is building a Megachurch for at least 25000 and not the numbers that others in tow were throwing around.  Go back through these threads and you will see.  The reason that I do not go to the meetings anymore is simply that I no longer care.  I know that the church is comming.  Period. I threw in the towel a long time ago.  You will be getting your church, and we are getting out of town, thus its effect on us is limited.

It took one year for me to convince my wife as to what the ultimate outcome of this debacle will be.  She is now convinced and is working with realtors as we speak.  A big hurdle was getting her to realize that we just have to bite the bullet and take the financial hit, because she wants another home equivelant to this one. I told her to throw another 250 K into the funds for that purpose.

You will see the sign on the front lawn sometime next week. Tell your friends about it.  It really is a wonderful place.

So Craig, I guess it is time for you to go on sabbatical again.
We didn't miss your last one, and we wont miss the next.
Will you reincarnate yourself as a different gender this time, instead of a college student.
Enough is enough...
and by the way,
I don't care about your work with edison's stuff
I dont care about your mcmansion
and I certainly don't care about your finanacials
I am curious how you made out with your fancy lawsuit with your newly awarded "bunkmate" dooty.

I am sure I am not flying solo in this.

I enjoyed some of our conversations in the past, but when you get like this, it's time for a vacation

You are obviously someone who thinks of himself as a champion overachiever.

In the need to reinforce your ego, you are starting to sound like a word class blow hard.
Please use all this energy for something constructive...

Tooting your own horn is not an example of "constructive".

Please wake up and understand what we are all telling you...see what you have become.

What a shame that we can't channel your energy.

There are reasons for behavior like we have seen - and I do mean this in a serious way.  Bi-Polar disorder results in behavior that can be very stable and productive at times to illusions of grandeur and then to deep depression.

Craig and Doty - while completely different do seem to share the traits of bi-polar disorder.  Hey guys do yourselves a favor and get some help.

You have some competition Craig. A very nice home just went up for sale on Old Beach Glenn. I don't know the asking price, but we always refered to it as the pond house.

What Are the Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder?

Bipolar disorder causes dramatic mood swings—from overly "high" and/or irritable to sad and hopeless, and then back again, often with periods of normal mood in between. Severe changes in energy and behavior go along with these changes in mood. The periods of highs and lows are called episodes of mania and depression.

Signs and symptoms of mania (or a manic episode) include:

  • Increased energy, activity, and restlessness
  • Excessively "high," overly good, euphoric mood
  • Extreme irritability
  • Racing thoughts and talking very fast, jumping from one idea to another
  • Distractibility, can't concentrate well
  • Little sleep needed
  • Unrealistic beliefs in one's abilities and powers
  • Poor judgment
  • Spending sprees
  • A lasting period of behavior that is different from usual
  • Increased sexual drive
  • Abuse of drugs, particularly cocaine, alcohol, and sleeping medications
  • Provocative, intrusive, or aggressive behavior
  • Denial that anything is wrong

A manic episode is diagnosed if elevated mood occurs with three or more of the other symptoms most of the day, nearly every day, for 1 week or longer. If the mood is irritable, four additional symptoms must be present.

Signs and symptoms of depression (or a depressive episode) include:

  • Lasting sad, anxious, or empty mood
  • Feelings of hopelessness or pessimism
  • Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed, including sex
  • Decreased energy, a feeling of fatigue or of being "slowed down"
  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions
  • Restlessness or irritability
  • Sleeping too much, or can't sleep
  • Change in appetite and/or unintended weight loss or gain
  • Chronic pain or other persistent bodily symptoms that are not caused by physical illness or injury
  • Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts

A depressive episode is diagnosed if five or more of these symptoms last most of the day, nearly every day, for a period of 2 weeks or longer.

A mild to moderate level of mania is called hypomania. Hypomania may feel good to the person who experiences it and may even be associated with good functioning and enhanced productivity. Thus even when family and friends learn to recognize the mood swings as possible bipolar disorder, the person may deny that anything is wrong. Without proper treatment, however, hypomania can become severe mania in some people or can switch into depression.

Sometimes, severe episodes of mania or depression include symptoms of psychosis (or psychotic symptoms). Common psychotic symptoms are hallucinations (hearing, seeing, or otherwise sensing the presence of things not actually there) and delusions (false, strongly held beliefs not influenced by logical reasoning or explained by a person's usual cultural concepts). Psychotic symptoms in bipolar disorder tend to reflect the extreme mood state at the time. For example, delusions of grandiosity, such as believing one is the President or has special powers or wealth, may occur during mania; delusions of guilt or worthlessness, such as believing that one is ruined and penniless or has committed some terrible crime, may appear during depression. People with bipolar disorder who have these symptoms are sometimes incorrectly diagnosed as having schizophrenia, another severe mental illness.

It may be helpful to think of the various mood states in bipolar disorder as a spectrum or continuous range. At one end is severe depression, above which is moderate depression and then mild low mood, which many people call "the blues" when it is short-lived but is termed "dysthymia" when it is chronic. Then there is normal or balanced mood, above which comes hypomania (mild to moderate mania), and then severe mania.

SOUND LIKE ANYONE WE KNOW?

This was brought to my attention:

This may be more like our dear friend Craig.

Narcissistic Personality DisorderAmerican Description

  2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
  3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
  4. requires excessive admiration
  5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations

I just thought that you might be interested in knowing about a very large contract that I secured for Maier Consulting Services, LLC from Lockheed.  We will be designing the entire ground support power system for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.  Ultimately, they will be constructing between 3,000 to 3,500 of these things.  Kinda neat, huh?  Great toys to be playing around with, ya know.  What kind of toys do you play with?  The thing that you see when you look down?

I knew that you would want to know about it, and I thank you in advance for your congratulations and best wishes to us and the success of our endeavours pertaining to this new venture.

Best Regards,

Craig

Further I am sure that if in fact this contract is real that Home Land Security will be happy to know you are bragging about having such "power"/contract.  i happen to know a great deal about such contracts and there are always privacy clauses within - you have just violated this clause.  Well it would have been nice to get the contract but you and your mouth got you in trouble again.

Sir you are in need of help.

RT -

You sure do find yourself obsessed with me.  Is it that you have fallen in love with me?  Do you have repressed homosexual desires?  Are you adversely effected by people who are successful in life?  I suspect that there is an inferiority complex going on down there somewhere.

Remember what they say:

"People with inferiority complexes are right; they are not as good as everyone else."

Now, if you were to be a good little citizen, you would turn me in for my so called indiscretion.  The problem is that you, as always are full of $hit.  These conracts are very public matters.

Now, go back into the corner and play with that thing to alleviate your pent up frustration and hostility.

Wow! The Lockeed f35!
Do you think its wise during a time of war, that you
should broadcast this information on the internet?
Complete with your name and adress?
No non-disclosure document in that contract?
Just who ya gonna sue when somebody links
this forum to say college humor or daves daily.
You know in the stupid human tricks dept.
Call me paranoid but after that little tidbit I would move,
start packing heat and consider carefully where my ego
takes me. The Jdl ain't as tuff as it use to be.
