I read somewhere that the Rev. was escorted to his car by the police.
Does anyone have any idea why? That seems a little neurotic; we're a nice bunch of people here. You're nice to us, we're nice to you. Just like anywhere else.
And if he's truly afraid of local hostility--assuming that's the statement he was trying to make--why in the world would he subject himself and his parisioners to it further by bullying themselves in here?
Would they want the police to escort all 5,000 of them everywhere they go in Rockaway?
I suppose that would provide some jobs anyway...
Did he really think he was going to be attacked, or was this just drama to make a point?
MAYBE he's the real 5reasons...I wonder if he had his cell phone with him.
Lastly, in the event the Rev and/or his congregation would need a police escort everywhere they go in Rockaway, would the church pay for the additional police force required to act as bodyguards for him and his entourage, or should the taxpayers take that expense on as well?
Hey Karen. I think the Rev was just grandstanding for the press. Either that or he was afraid that ToddDavid was there and was going to crawl up his ass.
