First let me address Mr. Maier’s comments from Monday night. You profess to be an engineer and commented that CC grew from 500 to 5000 in ten years ergo, extending that linear growth rate, CC would have a congregation of 13,000 in 3 years.
If you are an engineer, you can’t be a good one or you’d realize that the problem with linear analysis is that it’s linear; things don’t work that way. Reality is “S” curves, not straight lines. Speaking practically, it’s much easier to achieve high growth rates if the staring point is zero, than if you start at five thousand. Or the second million is harder to earn than the first.
Sir, your projections are WAY off. Let’s discuss the Chabad. Personally, I feel Rabbi Herson is a great asset to this community. But didn’t your temple recently investigate the construction of a school? Should I fear the traffic that will generate on the narrow roads of White Meadow Lake?
Ted, You are obviously not the brightest bulb in the room. The initial conditions that I seeded my equations with was not zero for a good reason - - - the membership is not starting at zero. Obviously, you do not have any mathematical background whatsoever. As for our Chabad Center, we have a total membership of about 80 families. Most of them live in Rockaway township. The Chabad serves THIS community and not the other way around. Please do not communicate with my any more. I do not like chatting with idiots.
Regardless of any errors involved the long and short of it is, this guy with a degree in engineering and ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP can't even give a projection of what they HOPE to achieve growth wise.
I wonder why he won't give that info--because there would be a collective gasp from the audience maybe?
