Why did we modify our ordinances? Do they not apply to the circus act? Is there something in the language of the new ordinances that exempts circuses run by clowns that is not generally known to the public?
Ultimately, why is this thing still being heard by the PB? If the laws apply to everyone, including circuses, then why is ireland and company not being held to account?
My guess - we are allowing cc all the time it wants to "study" the new law, same old kid gloves the board has used all along. the board knows darn well it is heading to the courts, why they are playing footsie with this group is beyond my comprehension...???
The situation will not necessarily end up in the courts if we (the board) believes any promises that ireland makes or assumes that he will somehow control growth. If the board buys any of his bs, we will start out with a very small version of the original plan that we will not be able to reject. He will be in. No lawsuit. Then, and only then, after he grows exponentially, will he sue us if we try to limit that growth.
