Did anybody else notice the card in the mail that announces Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen is having one of his Town Hall Meetings at the Rockaway Twp Municipal Bldg on Saturday, 2/26/05, 1-2PM. Wonder if anyone is planning to attend and if we could put him on the spot to help support our battle. Maybe introduce a bill to dump RLUIPA?
Just exactly who is his real constituency? WE ARE.
Those traveling into the area 1 day per week - or those who send kids to school in this area yet live elsewhere have no vote. Rodneys area is here - WE are who he serves.
Wish I could go - but will not be around. I hope someone attends and pleads our case.
The solution to our problem is going to be found through our local government, not the county, state or fed. Messing around with a minority owned church is one of the third rails of politics to use a cliche'. I think that we have already seen that via the DEP's reaction to the problem at hand.
