Yes, it can be cold and snowy, but our winter hikes remain perpetual favorites. Please join us to find out why!
We will start 10 AM at a gravel parking lot on Green Pond Road in Jefferson. >From Rt. 23 northbound, U-turn at La Rue Rd (9 miles north of Rt. 287) then follow Rt. 23 south to the first right onto Green Pond Road. The lot is 1/4 mile west on the right., just past the railroad crossing.
The 5-mile hike route is interesting, scenic and mostly level. Find out how bears, otters and coyotes communicate. See a beaver pond from the inside out. Smell the fragrance of a thousand white pines!
Please bundle up (warm, dry boots), bring a drink and a bag lunch. Arrive a few minutes early to insure a prompt start. The hike begins at 10 AM and ends at about 2:30 PM.
This event is rain-or-shine (snow-or-shine?) within reason. If the weather is dreadful please call us for a last minute update. See you there!
Thanks!
