How many people will be at this structure Monday - Friday?
You need only read exhibit M filed by the mega.
M-F 9am-5pm 600 people - hours spent 8
M-F 5pm-9pm 250 people - hours spent 4
Saturday 9am-5pm 825 people - hours spent 7.5
Sunday 9am-5pm 5,024 - no hours spent noted.
If you doubt the numbers contact the NJDEP and via the open information act you too can gain a copy of all records.
To those who claim that traffic is going to be less then that of Agilent - I offer this data:Number of employees M-F 510 people - 8 hours (no time frames given)
"weekend - 1 day" 480 people - 4 hours.
Document entitled: Christ Church highlands exemption Exhibit M
And those numbers, not suprisingly, are a lie; the truth always seems to allude the good reverend. His numbers might have been that low had he moved into the Agilent site 1.5 years ago. I think it reasonable to take each one and multiply by 3 or 4 to accurately represent his flock in a few years.
How can this be when they have a midweek service one night per week?... that would be over 1000 people for sure.
does anybody know if they have been honest about this?
From their web site:
Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. We gather to pray for our country, state and local communities; that the hearts of people everywhere would turn to Jesus Christ.
Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. This time of in-depth study comprises general and specialized teachings on various biblical and social issues people face today.
I remember that the question was asked. However, it was about a year ago now, so I do not remember the specific and actual answer. I do remember that it struck me at the time as being an extremely low number - - - I remember saying to myself "bull$$it" when he answered the question.
I think I recall the "liturgical dance" rehearsals one night each week, expecting 200-250 people. There was discussion on how many people at each activity during the week, I just wasn't taking notes.
Last year, during the Christmas season, I attended a show at CC with some friends in Montcair. It was a capacity crowd on a week night. To CCs credit, the production was top notch.
Now, can you imagine what they will be capable of supporting with a 2500 seat theatre? I understand their Theatrical Ministry is something they have big plans for, as well as a very large media prodcution studio.
A church putting on well produced shows is a great thing, however they need to find a more suitable location that will accomodate their future growth. I didnt move my family out here from the city to have a stadium in my back yard.
it seems like a question that needs to be put out sooner than later (perhaps to the traffic expert)...generally megas get 25% to 40% of the people out to a wed. night.
That is also the night megas get tons of singles... because that is a big part of their social life... it is also cc's youth group night.
conservative estimate... 1250 people...500 cars... coming in during rush hour mind you.
BR's point about the Christmas production is well made... GPR those weeks will be impassable
Also notice that the exhibit notes the times on Sunday from 9-5... interesting for a 2 service church isn't it?... look for a 3rd service to be added late sun (or sat night)... Also don't be surprised to see them do what faith fellowship in sayreville did... add a 3 pm spanish service... then when RT complains they can say... we told you 9-5
I'm for all this activity... unfortunately as we all know 140 GPR is a bad site for it
Dont forget they have over 100 in their choir and I believe I saw that their choir practices 3 nights per week. You just have to look over their online schedule of activities to see that this place is a 7 day and night per week organization. They also host nationwide seminars with guest speakers and attendees that are flown in from all over. These take place over several week days.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that as large as everything is that they do now, THEY WANT TO GREATLY EXPAND IN THEIR NEW LOCATION. More and larger activities and ministries in all aspects.
I am just bringing the attention to the fact that a midweek service can be as large as one of the sunday services & it seems that has not raised enough red flags...forget about GPR wed nights as well as sunday am....in fact wed pm might be worse
But you see folks, all this talk is irrelevent. It will be incumbant on US, the unwilling hosts of CC to provide them with proper accomodations. If that means widening GPR to 4 lanes, it will be expected of Morris county to provide that facility. If it requires Meriden and Farber Hill Road to be widened to 4 Lanes, it will be upon the taxpayers of RT to provide that. If the sewers are incapable of handling the crap, RT taxpayers will have to expand the treatment facility. If the wells are not sufficient in volume, you got it, we will have to dig more. If they become contaminated, we will have to provide potable treatment plants for our city water. If the local Volunteer fire department has a hard time dealing with ire-lands plans, he will simply insist that RT will have to hire professionals and get rid of the volunteers. And on it goes.
You laugh? Well, you should be crying, because I am certain that Irelands attitude is to use this town as his tool. He sees us as his servants for his greater cause. And, thus far, he has put his muscle into that plan successfully.
RT will truely become New Ireland unless the leaders of this townsip wise up and deal with this in a more effective way. And you all know my opinion as to what that way is. There really is NO other alternative.
It's in the back pocket rational - our officials are staying the course, because as you well know, the DEP still has to look over the "exemption" it granted based upon incomplete plans. They can reverse the decision, while saving face because of said incompete plans, and Rockaway is left out of the lawsuit. That is the best case senario, and one we need to wait on to play out. We will be facing a lawsuit any other way, so we might as well be patient. The law is on our side in many aspects of this case, so do not give up so easily...
As I have said before, the DEP is in business to make Political decisions, not logical ones involving the environment. More specifically, minoritiy owned churches TRUMP Environment law any day of the year. The DEP will never overturn itself. Besides, the way the law is written, the most that the courts can do is to ask the DEP to re-evaluate their decision. And the final decision, according to the way the law is written, is not with the commision, but the DEP commissioner. Period, Done.
So, Ireland put a stake in the ground in May of last year. He said in one of his interviews, that he should have been building already. To me, that means that he is accruing damages against our township from that day forth. The longer we play footsie with this A$$hole, the greater will be his claimed damages.
But, he has only about a 1 percent chance of winning an Eminent Domain contest. It would be precident setting if he did. And, if he did, it would change an entire body of law in which towns are allowed to exercise eminent domain to protect themselves from onslaughts like Ireland.
Look at it this way. If he won, any so called Church could effectively take over any town in the state both politically and sociologically. Obviously, the state can not allow that to happen. Thus, we exercise eminent domain to protect this town from becomming totally subservient to his church and its whims, and we win after years in court. Just the years in court alone will bankrupt the guy, hopefully.
I agree that we can exercise the right to take that land, I just disagree that it needs to be done hastily - plenty more time to get our ducks in a row - and in the meantime, ireland will be hemorging $$$$'s...it's a game we can play longer than he can - his frustration with that reality is starting to show imho.
