Clearly, cc has done nothing illegal.  They are not giving gifts to or through the planning board.

Clearly also, as many have pointed out before being deleted at nj.con, giving gifts to a government entity while you are trying to win their favor is a violation of ethics rules.

As I pointed out at nj.con, my company has a Corporate Integrity Program.  Every year, all employees must read a very long document and sign a pledge that they will not be party to gift giving / accepting both from our vendors and those that we serve (rules are more stringent when government agencies are involved, ie - we could accept / give a small gift to another company - such as a meal, but NO GIFTS at all to government employees).  The program is put in place to AVOID ANY possibility of appearing to be unethical.  Many large corporation have such programs.

Maybe mister ireland didn't think about the integrity issues involved in giving gifts to a town where he has a case being heard, but it clearly does bring up ethical issues.  Personally, I would have expected better from a 'church'.  Notwithstanding the opionions of White Meadow Lake posed by mister ireland's supporters at nj.con (with his tacit approval, since he refuses to refute their attacks), Rockaway Township is clearly NOT a city of great need.  Giving his gifts somewhere else would have avoided the appearance of conflict of interest and could have provide truly needy children with gifts.
