You are welcome! I will tell you that the letter as it appears in the Daily Record is complete and unedited.
I have already recieve a phone call from a woman in Denville in support. Her son lives in Hibernia and she visits him each Sunday. She is very concerned over the traffic issues and has been following the situation for many months. She took the time to call me this morning to offer her support and ask for an address so that she can help in our efforts with a gift. That was very sweet of her and we appreciate every dollar we can get to help pay for our legal/experts fees.
In the past few weeks the applicant seeking to redevelop the Agilent site on Green Pond Rd. in Rockaway Twp has resorted to some rather bizarre tactics. Representatives of the applicant, Christ Church, held a press conference, during which they commented that they would like to communicate with the people of Rockaway Twp. – yet they refused to stop their car and speak to those residents who were waiting outside the gates of the press conference. The applicant then takes out a full page advertisement in which they claim to address “myths” with “facts”. The word “facts” was completely inappropriate it should have read “our opinion”, which they are clearly entitled to but they are not entitled to defame people or to suggest dishonesty, that is simply unethical and inappropriate.
There are many issues that have yet to be presented to the planning board and a great deal of testimony has yet to be heard. We feel it was completely inappropriate to send a brochure to members of the planning board claiming that the “opposition” has been “misleading” and “deceiving” people. During the planning board meetings our attorney is referred to as the representative for the “opposition”, thus it is clear to whom the applicant was directing their comments. What impact will this mailing have on the members of the planning board? We are not sure. Rockaway Township has gone out of its way to avoid even the slightest appearance of impropriety while the applicant storms forward with outrageous editorial comments and sends them directly to the homes of planning board members. We believe there should be some sort of remediation for their actions.
We agree that we have a difference of opinions of several technical points and will be addressing these issues in the proper forum at the proper time. We can however agree on some key points.
The property is in the Core of the NJ Highlands.
The property is clearly environmentally sensitive.
The intensity of use will increase dramatically (from 1000 people over 3 shifts to 5000 people on Sundays and hundreds of people per day 5 days per week plus special events)
The road leading to the site is a narrow one lane road.
Rockaway Twp will suffer a loss of over $630,000.00
The applicant can make up excuses, look for loop holes and hire all the public relations people it wishes, but it can not change what is clearly true, this project is simply too large for this environmentally sensitive location.
Sincerely,
Lisa and Adam Salberg

The Christ Church Plan for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd is just too big for the area.
Awsome - that sums it up nicely. And the DR did not even cut it up...perhaps the powers that be are starting to see past the "polictical correctness" and are seeing what the opposition is all about! Facts will always stand on their own merits - the DEP and developers be damed...
