Despite charge, Rockaway Twp. man seeking position of mayor Resident denies licking councilman's face, says he wants to represent town

ROCKAWAY TWP. -- A resident charged with harassment for allegedly licking the face of Councilman Michael Dachisen last month is challenging Mayor Louis Sceusi in the Republican primary.
Tucker Kelley, who denied the bizarre allegation and is pleading innocent, submitted a nominating petition with nearly 100 signatures just before Monday's 4 p.m. deadline.
Kelley said he decided to run for mayor prior to the Feb. 27 confrontation with Dachisen at the municipal building.
"I just want to be the representative of the people and not a politician," said Kelley, who has feuded in the past with Dachisen and other town officials on various issues.
Motive questioned
Sceusi, who ran unopposed in 2003, questioned Kelley's motivation in running for office.
"You have to question his motives, in the sense that he's never registered before, never voted in any other elections," Sceusi said. "He seems to be a disgruntled person."
Kelley, a lifelong Rockaway Township resident, said he registered to vote several months ago but added, "I think being a taxpayer for over a decade would show my interest in the town."
Kelley is vice president of Magnum Products, a Dover company that makes emission components.
Asked about the confrontation with Dachisen, Kelley said a surveillance video from inside the municipal building would support his contention that he never licked Dachisen's face.
Dachisen, in response, said that Kelley's version would not hold up in court.
"He looked for a confrontation, and I walked away from it," Dachisen said.
Sceusi said he will be campaigning with three Republican council members -- Joseph O'Connor, John DiMaria and William Schievella -- running unopposed for re-election.
No Democrats filed to run for mayor. ****************************************************
I can not help but wonder what a person who has never voted before is doing running for an elected position? Let the nonsense begin...I have a feeling it is going to be an intersting few months and one I am afaid is not going to be productive. That is my opinion...lets hope I am wrong. Lisa

If Ted is not "publicly" backing anyone for mayor what the hell is he doing with Fred? How freaking funny is it to watch him have a melt down! The guy is off his rocker and even Snowflack can see that! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!
