David Press in todays DR

I cannot imagine what he was think when he wrote his letter to the editor that was published in todays DR. Perhaps he should have taken the high road as he wished others to do. Such a shame he cannot lead by example instead of sinking to the depths that he has today. From speaking with his brother, I know this is not the way he was brought up.

He is a real piece of sh*t no doubt. What ward does he represent, and when can we vote him out? Anyone?

Press is the one who should have left this alone. Press is obviously seeking attention as this letter was pointless and does nothing but make him look like a ... oh shall I say it... a gadfly!

Have a nice night.

Is he the one who (theoretically) represents the Meriden area?

Actually yes he is the representative on the council for 140 Green Pond Rd. We are stuck with him for 2 more years unless someone wishes to take action to remove him from his position.

My wife and I refuse to support the DR because of the position that they have taken against us. Could someone provide a brief synopsis of what this guys said?

I can see that he will not be re-elected, you do have to wonder who's best interest, or who was bending his ear when he wrote this letter to the editor. Then again I wonder if this is his way of trying to get off the council a little early.

It sounds like Press is just recognizing that his most important constituent is David Ireland and not the existing taxpayers of his district. Ultimately, Ireland will bring thousands upon thousands to this township which will represent a cosnderable voting block some time down the line. Where will they all live, you may ask? How about the new apartment complex which shall commence construction shortly.

He is simply playing very smart politics here. Get used to it folks. This is just he beginning of a whole new political wind which is going to blow through our formerly lovely little township.

Craig with all do respect I think you need to review how local politics works and who can vote for who. We have districts of the town - each district has a council person and there are 2 "at large" postions which represent the entire town. Mr. Press represents mostly WML and up green pond rd to just past 140 green pond.
If you are refering to the Pond View Project for the new apartments, which FYI IF and that is a big IF it is built most of the units are for sale and only a small number will end up as rental units. That is not in Mr. Press's district.
With that said - I think that Mr. Press had once again placed his foot directly in his own mouth! Anyone remember the time he told the police chief in an open meeting that he did not think that the police were doing a good enough job keeping the streets of WML clear of cars, then when the police took action and issued tickets everyone got mad at the police when it was Press that started it all??

Have a nice weekend.
Lisa

This guy press is in way over his head. He is playing at wanna be politician, kind of like his buddy doty - legends in their own minds. He will no doubt go the way of the dodo bird next time around. I guess fools of a feather flock together.

My money says even odds that he would win an election if it were to be held tomorrow. But he may actually be getting his ducks in line for a mayorilty run 5 years down the line when the voting demographic changes towards his line of thinking when Ireland has more clout with the voting public.

Now that was funny. Do you personally believe what you just wrote?

Wasn't there just a big conflict between Press and the mayor recently, about parking tickets in WML? Maybe I'm mistaken but if I'm not, then in my mind this is nothing but a political pi$$ing match.

Craig's quote:
"Where will they(Christ Church members) all live, you may ask? How about the new apartment complex which shall commence construction shortly."

Which prompted Lisa to state:
"IF it is built most of the units are for sale and only a small number will end up as rental units."

Why is Lisa making the point that "only a small number will end up as rental units" ? Does this mean that Lisa is assuming that Christ Church members can't afford to buy apartment units and that they are only able to rent? Could she be making more assumptions about people based on deep seated, preconceived notions?

Hey fenerty - why so worried about our town? Did you not run away to N.C. in order to avoid some serious problems involving underage children?

Hey jerkoff -

Could it just possibly be true that most people who live in the inner cities of NJ rent apartments rather than own homes because their income levels are so low? Is that not only possible, but probable, a$$hole?

Now, once again, go F&%$k youreslf.

So tell us Craig, what is your personal stake in all of this? For someone who no longer lives in NJ, you seem to be wrapped up in the inner circle of the Reverend Ireland. Are you working for his group, an employee of a firm that is employed by Christ Church or the Rev Ireland, or his family in some official capacity?

Edit: Then again let's stay on topic, do you think David Press should have written that letter to the editor? Do you think he had the best interest of all of his constituents in mind when he wrote it? Or, do you think that someone has been feeding him bad intelligence? Once again turning him into a follower as he was growing up and not the leader of his ward that he is supposed to be?

We know of your "philosophy" on this topic Mr. Maier, and I believe Lisa's brother, amoung others, have thoroughly chastised you for the views you hold. But I wasn't aware that Lisa shared your "generalizations" about Christ Church members. But as she seems to have allowed you to defend her statement here, failing to come up with her own explanation, maybe you're not the only one in Rockaway Township with this outdated mindset.

Craig,

All I can do is yawn when I read your posts lately, is that really the best you can do? idle threats are your MO on the web, just like your hit and run posting tactics. You cannot imagine what that tells the rest of us about how much everyone gets under your skin because you cannot control them or the situations around you.

I have been away for a few weeks and have just now read this nonsense - Craig F you are nothing more then a bottom dweller who seeks conflict at every turn, I pity you. Maybe the reason I mentioned only a few units are going to be rental units is because that is what the plans call for and that is how the current devlopler wants to sell it...but that would just be factual and honest 2 things that must make you sick.

FYI Mr. Craig F you have no idea what I stand for or who I am so do not attempt to make judgements of something you know nothing about. You are so far off about my feeling it would be funny if it were not so sad and hateful. Try to get some help for your anger problem you may just feel a little better.
