Planning Board Meeting tonight

FYI tonight the planning board will be presented with the resolution on the CC application. It is short notice, but be there if you can.

Sorry I wasn't there. I didn't see the message until this morning. What happened? Thanks.

Hello,
This was a very detailed meeting with each and every word in the resolution reviewed by the entire board. I personally had to laugh when it took a few moments to make the pain staking choice to remove the word "a" so the sentence flowed better. The one item Jennings picked up on was when DeMaria was concerned with the use of the word "house" in comparison to the rest of the issues that one made sense.

The night was about formalizing the comments from the previous meeting, although I have to say that I was concerned with how the Chairman attempted to change the intent on a few issues with no concern for the testimony, he was over ruled by the rest of the board but it does go to prove you need to follow these issues to the end of the process.

It was clear last night that Ireland did not want the 2 hours between services and got rather animated when a member of the board asked, 'what does he wanted', he quickly said we do not want the 2 hour intervals, at that point the Mayor said it is what is best for the town and no burden to the applicant, it stands.

The intent of the conditions was clearified and in short ties up the loose ends at this point, however that does not by any means suggest that they are ready to move forward with this application. The DEP has yet to rule and may well place an end to this. Further the new Senate bill has become law and now a school can not be built on property that contains IRSA sites until those sites have been cleaned up, with 19 open sites on this property I suspect this will take many many years and millions of dollars to complete. This applicant is not grandfathered past this new law as it has not broken ground. We had been following this law for months but had not mentioned it publicly to avoid any attempts to hinder the passage by those who have shown so little care and concern for the environment.

Best wishes,
Lisa

I just read one of the other message boards and excuse me while I laugh! One of the CC supporters thinks that this agreement came out of 'compromise', I was in the room and there was NO compromise goining on. I would say that at one point Irleand may have wanted to see open dialog and talk himself in, and honestly he made some comments during the reading on how he wanted to have the agrrement termed but NONE of his comments made it on the final draft. This was not a comprimise, nor should any plan be a compromise it should be a facted based plan.

Have a nice day!
