Telemark meeting

I couldn't make it to the meeting Friday and I was wondering what's going on. The stench outside is horrible and it's even coming inside my house. Can anyone tell me what's being done? Thanks!

If the stench is being caused by aging septic systems affect water quality I would recommend getting the sewer line extended from Meriden Road to Telemark. Why this hasn't been done by now is beyond my understanding. We pay the same taxes as other parts of the township that have sewer and water service yet we accept the situation as a given. Perhaps we need to contact the appropriate township officials and make our concerns known. Any thoughts?

How would you ever overcome the problem that ireland has already spoken for the surplus sewer gallonage which that line would have been able to accomodate?

Sorry, but the truly serious business of his Gigachurch infrastructure requirements comes well before your silly little septic problems. In other words, your legal standing is infinitesmal compared to his, since he is a church with all of the privledges that go along with that.

Consider re-incorporating Lake Telmark as a church and then you will have some power.

Not everything revolves around cc. The lake is being dredged. The stench is coming from the lake. I just wanted to know what is being done since I couldn't attend the meeting, ie, how long to expect this smell, what it's going to cost, etc. All lakes will smell if they are dredged. Stop making this something it's not.

While it may be true that all lakes may smell if they are dredged it is also true that lakes surrounded by homes that have inadequate and aging septic systems will smell more. I believe that the lack of proper sewage treatment systems around the lake contributes tothe lake's problems. I further believe that this township should stop being penny wise and pound foolish and acquire 140 GPR as either a park/open space or a school and should provide sewer lines and town water to those communities that pay the same taxes as all township residents. Just my two cents. Does anyone disagree with that?

Wrong. Give it a few years and everything in RT will revolve around his majesty's crown.

While I agree with your emotion on that, I also understand that you have little legal standing compared to that of a Church. Sorry, but your needs come secondary to irelands.

It is your (and my) job to pay; it is not our job to complain.

The smell around the lake is caused by the draining off of water, they have opened the dam to draw down the level. The dredging of the lake is costly and not going to be done at this point. The lake has been drawn down to evaluate the lake bed and review options.

The meeting Friday night was very informative I do think they are going to hold additional meetings after the 1st of the year. They have hired an attorney, a lake specialist and also had real estate folks on hand to give some ideas as to what could be done to improve the lake. The lake is getting a website up that will have information about options soon. I am not going to post all the options as I do not have all the information here and do not want to ommit critical information. I can say that there are some great people trying very hard to improve the lake and we all need to help if we want to see the lake improve.

You may also be very interested to know that last summer the lake passed all tests for water quality for swimming, this means that there is not a big septic problem, if there was the bacteria count would be too high for swimming. Most of the homes directly on the lake have updated septics or the septics are on the road side of the property. I will admit I was surprised to hear this news as I too thought the water quality was negatively impacted by septic systems on the lake.

The biggest problem the lake has at this point is the weed growth and there are ways to controll it and manage it for the future.

If you live in Telemark please show up at future meetings and pass this information to your neighbors too!
