Well Folks hold on to your hats...and wallets. The BOE meeting tonight was informative and you should all do your best to attend the next meeting on October 18th at Copeland. The plans were reviewed for potential additions to the schools. They discussed adding on to Birchwood, Copeland, Stoneybrook, and Dwyer. They are also seeking to move the board office to the Dwyer location. IF the public wants all day kindergarden well KDM will have to be re-districted and kids sent across town for Kindergarden as there is only room in KDM for 2 all day classes.
IF...IF they get everything they want in these plans the price tag is Oh only 53 million dollars. I really did type that correctly 53 million. Now they can alter that number by altering the plan and it could be as low as 45 million but if the plan is added to it could reach 58 million.
This is not going to go over well with the people of Rockaway Twp and I think the BOE is going to have to find a more affordable way of achieving its goals. I wish them all the luck in the world.

The truth wins out over slick PR and personal attacks.
The Christ Church Plan for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd is just too big for the area.
So, not only do we get to live in a completely distressed area due to the church, but we also have our extremely high property taxes raised even more. Unknown to us that the time, buying a home in RT was the single largest financial and lifestyle disaster of our lives.
This township really is totally !u!ked - up. We really would not care, but it is taking us down with it.
