Last night I attended the town council meeting in part to provide a copy of my comments to the planning board to the council and secondly to thank the town, Hibernia fire and first aid and the many volunteers who have assisted my father over the past 2 months. I had originally intended to address the town council on July 25 but was unable to leave the Cleveland Clinic as my father was in intensive care from July 20 through mid August.
Thankfully we were able to get my father back home, well at least to NJ for rehabilitation, due in part to the help of the Hibernia Fire Dept. My father has given nearly 50 years of service to the company and it was really amazing to see the crew help him in anyway they could.
Some of you may have read the Daily Record’s new forum. The lunatic fringe is alive and well on that forum that is for sure! I have this really great idea for a way to publicly debate the matter- let’s have an open public meeting to discuss the Christ Church application for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd. We could announce it in the newspapers and hold meeting, maybe every month or so. We could encourage residents to come out to the meetings and participate in them. Let’s give the applicant the opportunity to apply for all needed permits with State and Federal agencies. Let’s offer the public a chance to ask questions of the applicant and even at the end offer personal comments on the matter. Lets hear all the facts from the applicant, question them on issues they do not make clear enough and oh I don’t know lets have a board of people listen to them and help them plan – we could call it a “planning board”. At the end of the process the board will give a decision on if they think the plan is in line with what we hope Rockaway Twp. to become, maybe we could create some kind of map of what we want this ‘master plan’ to look like. You know what areas should be developed, where should stay open spaces, what kind of building are best for which areas of the town something like that. We could have little laws with a special name like “ordinance” so that order is maintained and growth is managed in a way that would benefit the entire town. I don’t know about you but this sounds like a pretty good system to try out, it may have some flaws but it is a good start and who knows maybe other towns will try the same kind of a system for public ‘debate’.
If this system fails to work we could always try to get someone that lives oh about 600 miles away to discuss the merits of an application they know are not party to and maybe a former council person with no official capacity to discuss this issue with a resident who opposes the project based on 3 years of research and input from leading environmentalist and scholars.
I guess the instigators could try to debate this on internet forums, sling personal attacks, post pictures of weapons and pornography and write letters to the editors omitting critical facts (but they have already done that). I guess they could also refuse to answer there telephones when those of differing opinions attempt to open dialog with them ( oh wait they already did that). They could also send threatening emails, which contain their name and email address, to those who have a difference of opinion with them (oh wait they did that too). Remember these instigators are those claiming to support a house of worship.
I know where I will be on September 11, 2006, at the open public meeting at the municipal building here in Rockaway Twp NJ.

This is an issue in which many members of our community are opposed to the project Christ Church is proposing, due to its magnitude and potential effects on our community.
This is not Lisa Salberg vs. Christ Church. What sense does that make?
You seethe with anger and it's so obvious.
You appear to be furious that the two couples from VoRT brought this issue to the community's attention.
You blame four people for informing their neighbors of a huge project that, if approved, would affect all of our lives.
I say "Thank God" for people like the four members of VoRT, who get involved in their community's affairs.
I am so grateful to them for opening our eyes, and so is everyone else that I've ever spoken to about this issue in our community.
Let me get this straight the lunitic fringe is claiming that they "heard" Salberg is afraid to debate the clueless wonder from the south? Did she get an invitation that she turned down? Did someone call her? I think she would have commented if that had happened. -Regardless it is completely useless. Hey here is an idea next time there is an election lets find 2 people with bumper stickers supporting opposing candidates and lets have them debate each other as to why their person is better! That is about how little sense this attempted PR stunt makes... UNLESS--- Unless Ireland agrees to debate with the town with a panel of judges and if he looses the debate he has to pack up and leave, now that is an idea!
OBSESSION A persistent, repetitive, and unwanted thought. Cannot be eliminated by logic or reasoning. - I have posted the definition for those who may need to evaluate their motives. This is NOT a good thing - obsession is not healthy and the most important part of this definition is UNWANTED. The person who lives in WML who continues to post, much like a stalker, should take note of this word and get help.
My postition on the matter of a "debate" has been made clear in my post above. I will not post on the Daily Record message board in response to this stupid concept.
For the record there has been no attempt for anyone to personally contact me (phone, mail, email or otherwise) to arrange said "debate" and the only way I learned about it was from reading the Daily Record forum which claims someone 'heard' I was afraid of this "debate". As I had never even heard of the concept how could I be afraid? In short it is a pack of lies.
This pattern of harrassment must come to an end. There is not one shred of truth behind MrTruth.
Karen, thank you for your kind words of support. We all know that thousands of residents in the area oppose the Christ Church project based on size, scope and magnatitude. Those who seek to distract from the subject matter with baseless accusations are seeking attention for what appears to be the advancement of personal agendas which have nothing to do with our opposition.

Just ignore the user named "mrtruth" as we all know that this is either Jones or Fenerty (my bet is on Jones as I have witnessed first hand some of his off the cuff remarks in public) who posts on the untruth liars forum as "sonofthek" and maybe others. From the recent posts on the DR forum, the poster known as "mrtruth" does not have both oars in the water. The more they post, the more they show just how desperate they have become. Take the high road as you have done to date and ignore them. The terms less is more works in your favor.
You really want to see how frustrated they have become, check out the following posts on their liars forum where they imply that I am either "mtabor" or "mrtruth2". Where I have always stated in the past and now in the present that I do not need any other user name but this one.
This one they say I made a death threat, ok, so where is this threat I made, not one, not ever and no documentation to ever back up anything they post. Just another fabricate lie by the Rockaway hate bunch, and all in the name of a church group.
Thankfully, I do not take anything they have written on that site seriously, or maybe I might have gotten upset or angry, and then they would have won a small victory. Instead I watch that stuff and laugh every time they post something as insane as those posts. Why, because it shows just how deluded they really are, so wrapped up in the online forums and the fantasy and lies in which they post, that reality is no longer a part of their lives.
Again Lisa, remember that high road and continue to take it.
There is some good news today - The vile place the "Rockaway Truth s/b LIES" message board has taken down the kiddie porn pictures. It is OK guys we printed out copies for everyone to see what you are all about. Did you take down the weapons too?
Remember this is all about a house of worship that claims to have 5000 members in a diverse population. Yet why is it that the "supporter" seem to be so caught up on the color of skin of some of the members while claiming that "we" those who oppose the mega project are making "WHITE" people look bad? That is the most racist comment I have heard about this project. Those who cry racist the loudest are those with the insecurities and bias.
It matters not the color of ones skin... it is the color of the cars that matter. Think about that for a while and post back at 4:00am when you are good and rested there bUddy.

I saw it myself and I have to say the girl in the photo dressed in a bra and panties appeared to be very young, it was very sick. I do have a print out of the page and I think others also printed it out. This was on the same message board with photos of hand guns and some very strange comments about the need to use them.
It is clear if you read the website who is responsible for the content on the site and for the messageboard.
I will make some calls in the morning and see how to handle the reporting of kiddie porn. If anyone has any info on the matter please let me know in a PM or call me. Thanks!
