Did you see which side of the fence the trees were on?
Don't they need a permit for anything but tree trimming?
no it's on the other side of the fence and these trees were being cut down and cleared away not branches.
Might be power line clearing as there is that small, almost closed and over grown access road that leads back towards Denville just behind that property.
We drove to that site and there is major activity on the old pine forest off of Old Beach Glenn Rd, near Meriden. What happened was that Sandy destroyed that forest (it almost looked like a tornado hit it right after the storm). There is a sign posted there describing the work. It said something to the effect of Pine Forest Restoration Project and it is sponsered by the Morris County Parks (commission), or something like that. The description on the sign included the idea that the forest will be replanted after they clear the debris from the storm damage.
Sandy made quite a mess out of that forrest!
