Some of the posts on NJ. com take the position of posting questions and statments that attempt to twist the truth or the situation.... SO.... lets fight fire with fire and turn their words against them by introducing some TRUTH into the mix... We had fun correcting the posts of RTwillwin and Mainst and Speak up...
Here is my voice. Why is your CC group against the town protecting the environment? I thought you would be happy, as G-d asks us to protect the land. Is it still just about hurting the environment to you even after all this time?
2127. Lets try to repair what CC has done by RTwinwill, 5/16/04 10:45 ET
We might as well face it. CC supporters and CC have made the planning boards job much tougher, with all the bad press.
We must forget that and keep supporting the planning board. Nothing can fix the past. What CC, their supporters and Russ have done is in the past. Now we must move foward with Marci and figure the best way to win this.
2128. CC adds people to their team... by RTwinwill, 5/16/04 10:48 ET
CC still has some clowns on it. Ronnie Mc Berger the Clown and The Bucket FUND are still on it. The thing is, where is the mime? BTW RTwillwin. CC and its people have called even you a church shill did you know that?
The planning board knows all the harm they have done to the town. If CC thinks they can bully the planning board to stop a environmental nightmare and raise are taxes due to a loss of 630K they are way off base. A school would take years to build but may be a reasonable option for the land - however a new corp. resident may be nice too.
2130. MAIN...STREAM thinking by RTwinwill, 5/16/04 10:58 ET
I guess the best reason to be against CC is that this development will destroy the land, pave over 20 acres of land (you know the rest...).A school for the town would also be good for the land. Most think a company would be a good choice because New environmental regulations at State and Federal levels mandate the protection of the land. While the town may have missed an oppurtunity to purchase the land...the reason has been eliminated - we now have a new Superintendant who will not drop the ball.
NO one believes they just are interested in the land to block the church. It is perfectly legal to build a school now it is worth trying. It is clear CC is looking for some sort of compromise as the attacks have hightened they know they are in danger of an all out loss. So this may never even get to court CC will see the light and pack up and find a suitable location.

2116. REASON FOR CC OR AGAINST by MainstreetRT, 5/15/04 11:21 ET
I guess the best reason to before CC is that a church will help protect the land.A school for the town would also be good for the land. Most think a company would not be a good choice because the last one dumped on the land. The problem is the town had firdst shot at building a school and buying the land and passed on it. Now some think they just are interested in the land to block the church. Even if it might not be legal to build a school now it is worth trying. It has been writen many places that a compromise might be coming. So this may never even get to court.

Since you haven't kept up with events, th BOE is even questioning the bogus census projections used by the facilities committee.
We don't need a school and I'm betting that most people in town will come to the conclusion that we can't afford to spend hard earned tax dollars on a school we don't need.
The calculation of 451 current student excess is based on a funding formula that has nothing to do with overcrowding. Carl Rupp brought this to light at the last BOE meeting.
The 5 yr projection of 472 new students has been placed in doubt by the demography report itself, BOE member Mike Friedberger, and Mr. Rupp...as well as myself.
what does that have to do with the posting above? You are really a one trick pony...the little green men are coming to take OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!! and they are all part of the BOE!...or VORT!!
Tell me with a straight face tURD - why my kids have art-on the-cart becouse of classroom shortage??? Spin away a-hole, the truth will out you and rUSS. Get used to higher taxes tURD, we will be spending on schools, that's the way it goes when you allow new residential building in town. I would rather contribute my cash to fund schools rather than Mega-Business wrapped up as a "church"...

I don't know what school you child attends but the same tactics were used during the failed $19 million attempt to expand the schools. One or two schools are targeted and made to look overcrowded (Last time it was Stony Brook and Dwyer). Then they drive the concept of neighborhood schools and gety a buch of moms all excited. It didn't work last time and I'm hoping it won't this time.
Facts are are empty class rooms. there was no need for "art on a cart" 5 years ago and since then we've added 20 class rooms and only 119 kids...do the math and don't be fooled.
I have three in KDM ted - trust me, art is on the cart! I served on the committee, I did the math, I have made my own conclusions. I will vote when it comes up, as you are free to do also. Like it or not, the schools are crowded!
quote: Originally posted by: Mark B. "Hey Ted...."Facts are are empty class rooms" So...which school(s) are you talking about? "
Stony Brook and Copeland are the places to start. But First ask the average class size. Remember, The lower the class size, the more rooms used. Also keep in mind the "excess" of 451 students was contrived by using an inappropriate funding formula.
I guess I must be blind - I actually have kids at KDM - no wool over the eyes genius - stop in and talk with Mr. Pagano if you need facts pal. You are really spewing some garbage on this forum the last week or so...Dr. change your meds lately??? Dude, get checked out, you are on the highway to hell...

I often speak with Pagano. Yes, there is a problen at KDM. The solution, however is not construction of a new school.
The reasons for the KDM problems are quite involved but stem from actions of township residents oover the past decade or so. I & others feel the way out is to redistrict instead of over burdening the town with taxes it doesn't need.
You should make a run at the Presidency tED - you have more answers to any problem than any polititian out there. Fortunatley, most folks in town have a fairly good idea as to what is needed in our community. You are tolerated in public meetings because the law gives you that right.
The facts on hand do not jibe with what you espouse - you have NO support at any meeting I have attended, yet you (legend in your own mind) claim everyone and everything in town is fu*ked up, and only you and rUSS have the answers...boggles the mind. Have you ever stopped and asked yourself "tED - do people like Pagano listen to me because I am so brillant, or perhaps they are somewhat polite because decorum calls for it". Be honest tED.
Finally, a suggestion - why don't you start your own group in town - you could call it the "Angry bed-wetters without a clue". I am sure you could count on at least one person to join!!

The facts are that schools are not overcrowded. -The statistics used by Mrs. Minenna of the facilities committee were proven to be misused at the lasr BOE meeting and census projections were called into question by Carl Rupp, BOE member Mike Friedberger and the demography report itself.

I have started a group, thanks for bringing it up. We are called Concerned Citizens for Sensible Spending in Education. You will be hearing from us soon.
